Re: Thanks for the ad

You say "no one else". Somehow you have insight into what all multiple million customers have and have not experienced?

No, the banner was not clicked on either device. This has never happened with any previous banner, only the Roku last minute holiday banner.

that advertisement is from clicking the banner ad at the bottom of the screen when it is the "It's not too late to give em Roku....Save $10 etc". It does NOT automatically pop up. All panties may begin to be untwisted now...

Except that's not what happened as I've explained.

Re: Roku 2 HD Netflix Picture Quality

Adaptive streams are definitely progress. However, as implemented the impression from several people is that something is wrong. It should buffer the highest quality stream based on bandwidth before playing then adapt as necessary while playing. I struggle to understand the product decision to show ...

Re: Hulu Plus crashes Roku

Hulu can definitely be problematic. Always has been. Though I still contend that no matter how bad the channel it should not be able to reboot the box. Yet it does sometimes.

Re: Thanks for the ad

I couldn't tell you exactly when it popped up. But it was on both my Rokus when I turned the TVs on. Sometime on the 23rd before 7pm CST. I took a pic with my phone. This is the same thing you would see if you clicked the home screen banner. But that isn't what happened. It was just there full scree...

Re: Thanks for the ad

Not the ad along the bottom, which is annoying but tolerable. This was a full screen ad.

Re: New Roku iPhone app!

The box still often fails to respond to remote commands even through the iOS app.

Thanks for the ad

Is this the new norm? Should Roku owners expect to be subjected to full screen banner ads? Both my Rokus showed me a huge ad when I turned on the TV today. How obnoxious.

And to top it off, the grammar isn't even correct. Bravo.

Re: RIM PlayBook Price Slash?

Where do you get that unibody aluminium construction is cheaper? First, Apple is the only one who can do it. Unibody construction requires a single slab of aluminum and a single lathe to manufacture, as opposed to multiple machines and molds and considerably more assembly. I'm not sure how Apple ow...

Re: RIM PlayBook Price Slash?

I do generally believe Apple makes better products in the markets they choose to compete. That's my opinion based on facts I provide. You've provided zero facts in this thread. If you had any facts I would consider them when forming my opinion. You keep ignoring that I don't think all things Apple a...

I don't understand the uproar either. A bunch of privileged, middle-class people whining about paying a few extra dollars a month for their luxury entertainment service.

Go ahead and double what you pay them since it's no big deal. I'm sure they won't turn you down.

Re: RIM PlayBook Price Slash?

Your uninformed opinion was that Apple was overpriced. I didn't say other devices couldn't have worth. In fact (there's that word again) I said the opposite and cited Amazon's upcoming Kindle tablet as an example. You immediately put on your blinders and labeled me as a blind Apple follower rather t...
