Re: Section Title issue in MarkupList

To not open a new thread - there is a bug with MarkupList when using "floatingFocus" vertFocusAnimationStyle - sections aren't rendered. It works properly only with "fixedFocusWrap". It looks like this bug occurs for at least one year. By the way, there is wrong info in the docs....

Re: Bug in Brightscript? Erroneous margins for a MarkupList inside LayoutGroup

Yup, it's a bug - MarkupList adds dynamic translation when inside LayoutGroup.

Don't expect any answer from Roku ;)

Re: MarkupGrid bug if content's length smaller than numColumns

Can you pad with blanks to get the length you need? Use opacity="0" and focusable="false" on the blanks and stick them at the start or end or combination of the two. Then they are there to get your positioning correct(work around firmware limitations) but serve no other purpose....

MarkupGrid bug if content's length smaller than numColumns

Hey, I just want to repot a bug of MarkupGrid. Let's assume I have a content of 3 items I want to display horizontally. Because I want to have the focused item always centered, I set focusColumn=2, numColumns=5 and a proper translation to center the component. That's the initially rendered componen...

Re: New code linting tool for BrightScript

Hey, appreciate the job, but, let me be honest with you, it's just another not-so-useful brightscript linter. It misses a lot of very basic rules like indentations, trailing commas, multi spaces, empty lines and so on. Anyway, I really like the "function_too_big" rule which I'd call "...

Re: Benchmark Results: AA vs Node

Thank you. About nothing surprising - for me, an "optimization threshold" for a specific length of AA keys was a big surprise. Everyone know basics (mentioned from the Roku Docs at the beginning of the article), but IMO the exact differences aren't weren't so obvious

Re: Default assocarray field's value

To embed a double quotation mark (") in an XML attribute, you need to escape it as """ E.g. <field id="headers" type="assocarray" value="{myint: 123, mystr:"abc"}" /> should work to set headers = {myint:123, mystr:"abc&quo...

Re: Default assocarray field's value

@joetesta that would be a workaround. Hence it's not mentioned in the docs it's impossible to set default values for few specific types of a field, then it should be allowed. The question is how to do this. If it's impossible, the docs should be updated. If Roku only moves its docs to a public repos...

Default assocarray field's value

Hey, what's the correct way of setting default assocarray field's value in XML? Is there any? I'm able to set only an empty object via: <field id="headers" type="assocarray" value="{}" /> but none of the following works: <field id="headers" type="assocarr...

Will someone from Roku do something about these bugs? Will we see at least an official comment?

Actually, I think your better option would be to set numColumns='x' , numRows='y' and then focusRow='y'and focusColumn='x' and lastly rowFocusAnimationStyle='fixedFocus'

I'm not sure about which SceneGraph component are you talking.

TargetList: jumpToItem bug

Hey, in one of the views in our app I'm trying to use TargetList, because I need a component with the possibility to scroll its items horizontally (by pressing left/right arrow) with keeping the focused item centered on the screen, so TargetList looks like the only choice. I've already implemented i...
