Hi Mike. Apple Lossless still don't play.
Don't know if there was supposed to be a fix for that, but letting you know just in case.

Hi! Well, yeah I confused the two. So it's Apple Lossless then, not AAC. The files have the .m4a extension and are identified as "MPEG-4 Audio" in File Info and as "Apple Lossless" in iTunes. And this is all on MacOSX 10.4.10. The files have been encoded by different versions of ...

iTunes 7.4 - unable to play AAC anymore

Upgraded to that new iTunes version that came after Sep 5th and now my M500 with the latest firmware upgrade cannot play any AAC (Apple Lossless) files (produced from importing CDs) from the library whereas mp3s play just fine.

I think you can follow general upgrade procedure when you power off the unit, then press the 'select' key on the remote and without releasing it power on the soundbridge. It should boot into safe mode and you'll see if your problem is firmware related, it'll also let you download the latest official...

Why not just try re-flashing the firmware?

I haven't... It loses its log after a reboot and I doubt it will respond to telnet when it hangs... But it really happens very rarely. Maybe something to do with that internet station.

As a matter of a fact, my soundbridge sometimes (rarely) crashes/reboots or just hangs when I switch radio stations. The screen turns 100% bright and it hangs or reboots. That always happened on the same station though but not every time of course.

I second crossfade, but for me it's more important to crossfade radio stations, so make sure you add some 'global' crossfade. Also, let radio play while I'm browsing Itunes library, why does it have to stop? Maybe I'll change my mind.

I dare say this looks (and probably sounds) like Microsoft of the Music Players.

I'm curious why no big corporation has yet released a network player... Like, I dunno... Marantz for example. Not that I really want such a thing to happen because I like Roku so much.

Using SoundBridge as an external soundcard?

Is it possible to use a Soundbridge as an external sound card - i.e. feed live audio data from the computer and had it decoded by SB? My guess is that it's impossible, but still... maybe there's some way I haven't heard of.

For what it's worth I also noticed some delay in responding to remote commands on my M500. Esp. it's noticeable when you do Menu/Change Library-Configuration. But when I press it two times it eventually makes a double click after this delay and I have to repeat it all again and then the delay disapp...

Dunno if this has been asked for before, but here goes...

Web control/configuration page needs power on/standby buttons. I just noticed I cannot remotely make Roku play anything, if it has been put on standby.

A small suggestion - can we get rid of empty "elapsed time" display widget while in Internet Radio mode? Just remove it, it's of no use anyway. I'm talking about the thing on the bottom right that (at least on M500) looks like this:
