Re: Roku Tech Support

Hi; it's been a while since I've been back. Instead of the built-in Roku server, I've been using Plex for a little while.  I had a little trouble with it at first and found out some info over on the Plex Forums; my issue had to do with a "naming scheme" in order for the videos to show up ...

Re: Roku XD is flawed, Roku won't admit it

.....Disabling the SPI Firewall on the router did the trick.  I've been surfing all over the movie choices without a problem.  My basic premise, however, still holds: the Roku XD is flawed in that it requires basic router security features to be disabled for its operation.   My conclusion was a lit...

I should add that when trying to update the firmware, I rebooted my routers for well as the SB device.

The device feels a bit hot for my liking but not to bad. Any ideas or suggestions ? If none, perhaps it might be a good time to ask about an RMA and a device replacement?

Re: Speaker Amplifiers replacement and new power supply succ

Picked up a used R1000 from ebay.  Didn't power on, but following suggestions here I connected amps and display/cpu to a 3A 12V power supply.  Front let speaker fine, front right crackled and popped no sound, sub sounds distorted.  I opened it up and established front right bad by swapping left and...

Re: router compatibility

2.4 is better if a long distance from the router. I got range extenders so I could run 5ghz for all my TV's and I use the 2.4 for the phones and computers since I rarely if ever stream on them. You lose speed with the extenders, but even with the loss, it's still a quicker stream than the 2.4 https...

Re: Roku with Sony 4K TV

Just throwing it out there, on my 4k tv all the HDMI ports had HDR turned off by default and needed to be turned on for the Roku box and so on. It turns out that that was also my problem with this new Sony. The default setting is to have all HDMI ports set to 4K UHD HDR at 30fps only and the Roku w...
