Re: Feed Issue, no videos showing up (Newbie)

I downloaded your trial version of the software. Is there a comprehensive set of instructions for it that explain what each element of the program does, formats, changes, etc? It is well laid out, but I have no idea how it puts out a json file to upload. Even if it did, it would crash on Roku. The j...

Baradanikto

If you rename your json file to anything different than the one you are using, and then have the Feed Status check it, your private channel will be inoperable from that point on. Not suggesting you do this, but the bug still persists.

Re: Feed Issue, no videos showing up (Newbie)

The new "features" are being migrated into the Direct Publisher channels. It's only hit one of mine so far, and man is it ugliness. Support told me we will have to live with it. If you want to look a it, search out America Matters TV and install the channel. Normally, there is only one cli...

Re: Feed Issue, no videos showing up (Newbie)

Well, looks like another two weeks has come and gone with no ability to test unpublished channels. Also, Roku is tinkering with adding things to your published channels you may not appreciate. Such as a huge search icon that allows your viewers to search within your channel, even if you have only on...

Re: Feed Issue, no videos showing up (Newbie)

I have also had a working, unpublished channel for more than a year. When I got this load error on a new channel I was working on, I decided to try the json file in my known, good, unpublished channel. Well, it broke the existing channel, and even if I reload the original json file before the test, ...

Re: Feed Issue, no videos showing up (Newbie)

STOP TRYING. This is a bug at Roku, and it's been going on for two weeks. You will waste tons of time trying to figure out what you are doing wrong, meanwhile Roku will not tell you about it until you go through partner success.  I have emailed them a couple of times about a resolution, but no answe...

Re: Getting a .pkg file from my DP channel

Well, there are a couple of reasons I can think of. First, I can't hand out the vanity code for subscribers, but would have to resort to distributing a link. That's not the end of the world, but secondly, you can't get viewer statistics on the channel. It comes up all zeros. The stats are important ...

Getting a .pkg file from my DP channel

Hello all, I have developed a simple channel with the Direct Publishing template. My desire is to keep this channel private, so I haven't clicked on the Publish button yet. It is my understanding that there is no private channel support feature in Direct Publisher, so... My question is can I downloa...

Re: My Live Streaming Channels Quit on Me

Thanks for all the replies. The situation has been resolved. I opened a ticket with Roku support, and they verified my issues. After sending my case up the ladder to Roku engineering, the channels all started working again. I have received no correspondence of exactly what the issue was, but it has ...

Re: My Live Streaming Channels Quit on Me

Thank you for your replies. I use Amazon AWS S3 to house the json files, and graphics. All the feeds I am referencing have been functioning for many months, so there were no copied file errors. All of them quit at the same time, I'm guessing. They all use Direct Publisher. Archived video contents on...

Re: My Live Streaming Channels Quit on Me

My CDN verified the streams are being sent, and there were no changes on their end.

Re: My Live Streaming Channels Quit on Me

The Direct Publisher interface verifies the json url, and status of the content as being fine. The url put into VLC was the one I copied out of my json file, using chrome browser and an online json editor program.

Re: My Live Streaming Channels Quit on Me

The feeds did not play in the Roku Feed Tester. Got about the same result, progress bar goes up to about 10% then stops. This same results from three different encoders / streams. Tried HLS, MP$, and DASH streams.

Re: My Live Streaming Channels Quit on Me

Yes, I have the json files. I copy the url from them and paste into VLC, and the files stream fine. Roku ingests the feeds, but will not push them through the players for some reason. I also have a private channel I am using for development. When I put these urls into that json file, same thing happ...

My Live Streaming Channels Quit on Me

Hello, I have a few live video channels up in the Channel Store. When I go to watch them now, they never loads, and therefore fail to play. I can play the video streams on VLC player, so I know it is being delivered from the CDN. Did something change perhaps, that I am not aware of? These are all pu...
