Roku 2 slow streaming with wifi

I can not get reliable streaming performance on my roku2 since moving to wifi. Other wifi streaming devices at the same TV work fine (chromecast). But the throughput on the roku is just horrible. Using the netflix example video it often takes 10 minutes to reach 1:1 3000kbps. Where my other devices ...

Integrated Emergency Alert System

Because we are moving more and more to a non-broadcast / cable solution for TV/video/movie viewing I would like to see the integration of an emergency alert system built into the system. Something that you could turn off, but would be enabled by default and based on your zip-code (during the setup p...

Amazon playback crash - roku2

I have been seeing some crashes with the amazon app - usually when you try to rw/ff the system becomes un-responsive and then reboots... Anyone else seeing this?

Re: long term issues with HULU Plus Streaming

We have our roku connected wirelessly. We have no problems with any other channels, except HULU. Iy is getting worse and worse. You can't watch any show without it freezing, sound going out, stuttering, taking forever to load, crashing, ... was looking to see if a newer Roku box would improve the i...

If roku were to strike a deal to offer a "basic" package (like on cable say 40 channels sci-fi,history,discovery etc) would most of you be willing to pay say 20 bucks a month for it?

what would you consider a fair price for it via roku?

Re: What is the point of HBO/Epix, etc...

I have u-verse internet and cant get it ... so its really pointless... So you are not even paying for the cable TV portion and can still use it? That seems odd...

Re: What is the point of HBO/Epix, etc...

It just seems so flower backwards - I dont have cable - will not pay for it, but would pay for showtime or HBO or Epix... but I cant... I guess I will just stick with AVOD, H+ and Netflix... Back to my Epix free trial weekend - that makes no sense because after the trial I can not subscribe to it...

What is the point of HBO/Epix, etc...

Stupid channels with great content - yet you can only use them if you pay for cable... Just think this is really stupid...

Why can we not just pay for Epix and HBO, etc...

Re: YouTube

It would be nice to have this channel back... I used it quite a bit... wonder where the complaint came from - usually Google does not care if people use the MP4 encodes in an un-approved way... its usually a content provider... Not wanting their stuff that they put up there playing on a TV...

They have had it since 2009... and yes, in 2009 it was streaming, and it was high def. So it's not new to netflix play instantly.

Just noticed it in HD on their site... along with a couple other good movies. ..

I wonder if we will start to benefit from all those contracts Netflix has signed...

Re: Warning about Hulu Plus

Don't see what peoples problems are with H+
I think the service is great... for an normal length show like House you only see 3-4minutes of commercials... this is like 12minutes less then normal broadcast... and I find H+ commercials less annoying.

Re: Some Hulu content not viewable on Roku

I think its just being stupid... Hulu + makes it clear what they have to offer on their website - that you have to goto in order to create an account... its no terrible dark secret, just licensing deals... I am sure more content will be coming just as it has with amazon and netflix... But constantly...
