right click on the text to the left of the graphic bar of the boot drive (in your case probably "Disk 0" with the word "Basic" below it. Select "Convert to Dynamic Disk. Can this only be done on the boot drive? I have three drives in my machine. My primary drive is a FAT32 ...

Yup. Already did it and it works great. Thanks for that update. I must say that I've been real frustrated with the PB for most of the time I've had it (1.5 year) but I finally moved to a static Ip and it seems to have stabalized quite a bit. If that was the only real issue, I may actually buy anothe...

Interactive, That is multi-angle. You can tell DVDDecypter to rip only angle 1, that is normally what you need. At some point, MPlay will support multi-angle DVDs. M.- This issue popped back up this week and it's been a couple of months since I've ripped a DVD and I've forgotten how I fixed DVD Dec...

TheEndless: Thanks, as always, for the quick response. I believe that the DVD Smart Select feature is where MPlay recognizes that a folder has DVD-style files and can kick off the movie by pressing "PLAY" then YES, I am using that feature. However, I tried it again tonight and I'm landing back in th...

MPlay question - exit to top menu

I'm sure there's an easy answer to this but I can't seem to find it. When I'm watching a movie on MPlay and decide I want to view some other video/movie from within MPlay, I hit the menu button to bring me back to my movie list. However, when I do this, I wind up in the current VIDEO_TS folder of th...

I don't recall what I did but this problem is no longer a problem.

My guess is that an updated version of Mplay addressed this in some way but I can't be sure that I didn't make some mod.

Did it run all of your roku apps, such as slimroku, etc?

It ran all of my apps the first couple of times I played with it:

MPlay
WeatherSix
Sonica

I haven't messed with SlimRoku at all so I can't vouch for that one.

I guess the issue though is how do you see/get SDesk to trigger the ECP command, you'd need to see the screen? That's why I was asking about sven and his whereabouts. Didn't know if possibly there was enough demand to justify him including this as a built in feature. It would be reasonably easy, I ...

Re: Filter media types in shares

Is there way to filter these shares so that only the intended content appears? Have you tried SDesk? http://www.ignoranceisbliss.com/sdesk.htm Yup. I have it loaded and I've been experimenting. I love the concept...it's exactly the approach that Roku should have taken from day 1 if you ask me. (Kud...

soiaf: This makes a lot of sense, thanks for taking so much time to explain. You're very generous with your detailed explanations. This looks like it could be a good solution. Once configured, I could use an app like IRAssistant (I'm sure there are others) to capture an IR command from the remote sy...

What I've done for now is the following... I have two primary media drives (E & F). I use E exclusively for movies and F for movies and some non-Roku related archives (that I don't want to be visible to Roku). I created a folder on F called My Movies and then a sub folder called Movies 1. Then I...

Filter media types in shares

Ok, I've been spending some down timw during the holidays trying to make the PB usable by my family. I just find the user interface to be completely confusing to those folks that don't understand what's going on behind the scenes. For example, I have 3 primary shares for media: My Movies My Music My...

Hope this works ok for you... soiaf: This worked perfectly! This is actually very cool. I suspect I'll be able to get deeper into this thing now and really screw some stuff up!! :) Ok, now that I understand the whole concept of telnet'ing, I'm going to go try and conquer the mini-application to aut...

soiaf: You may regret trying to help this noob :-) but can I ask a dumb question? (I have NOOOoo programming experience at all but I think I can learn some of these basics to get this done). How do I telnet into the Roku? I've attempted to hit that IP from MS HyperTerminal and I get a login/password...

There are ECP commands to accomplish this. If you're not able to directly send them to the PB, you could setup a simple .roku file to do it, then launch them from the UI to make the change quickly. TheEndless I know someone would have an answer to this...and that it would probably be over my head. ...
