Re: 2,000 More Reasons to Swap Netflix for Amazon

I tried Amazon Prime for one month(free trial) and wasn't impressed, a lot less content compared to Netflix and most of the content was redundant. If I ordered more from Amazon it would be a nice bonus. I think Amazon would be smart to buy Hulu, Amazon is a well run company that has the cash and ser...

Re: Walmart now sells Rokus!?!

Well I see Roku took my advice from over one year ago to sell at Walmart and lower their prices, I thought it would help their sales now that every CE device can stream Netflix.
I hope they sell well.

My post was for those who are having problems viewing and sorting their queue online, it won't help those with Roku problems.

Re: Netflix titles vanishing from Instant Queue

You might try updating Flash: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Then in Internet Options clear your browser history and set "Check for newer versions" to "Every time I visit the webpage". Also make sure scripting is enabled in Security. If that doesn't help try a different browse...

I honestly have never seen buffering problems on Hulu Plus with my unit, but I'm fortunate to have 50 to 70 mbps download speeds all the time.

What ISP do you use?

As for Hulu, the only problem I had was the commercials cycling without moving on to the program.

Re: Amazon Prime unlimited streaming officially launches

It's a good start but I don't buy enough from Amazon to justify $79 a year, if Amazon could get exclusive content then I might sign up. BTW: read the TOS for Amazon Prime before signing up, you can't get a refund on your membership once you use the service: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/dis...

Re: Pandora Radio now inserting test advertising

I have a free account and after listening to Pandora for several hours today I didn't hear one ad on my custom* channels, it must be on their "Radio" channels. In December I added their Christmas Radio channel and heard ads.

* by custom I mean I searched for an artist as opposed to genre.

Re: Pandora Radio now inserting test advertising

I noticed it last month, it's only one ad per hour but I hope they don't go ad nauseam(eg Hulu Plus and yes the pun was intended).

Re: With the price of Cable going up, who's cutting the cord

The only problem is that I don't get some local channels (none-network) like KCAL 9 and KCOP 13. But I can live without Judge Judy. And sometimes we get interference on our antenna so weaker signals like ABC have had problems. I use to live in LA and OTA is very spotty there because of all the moun...

It does and I did.

As for the OP question: I haven't heard of any websites.

Good point.

Amazon has cheap antennas and a great return policy.

Re: With the price of Cable going up, who's cutting the cord

Most sites say I need a large roof mounted antenna to possibly get the channels. Unfortunatley roof mounted does not sit well with the wife. You can always mount it in the attic, also your HOA cannot prohibit you from mounting an outdoor antenna. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-V6BCeHpYf6m/learn/learn...

Re: With the price of Cable going up, who's cutting the cord

It will be two years next month I have been without cable/sat, I get 12 local stations OTA and I pay $20 per month for DSL. I don't miss the sports because I can listen to the local games on the radio. It saves me $90 per month, that's $1100 a year....I bought a new HDTV and took a vacation with the...
