Re: Web Browser

As a developer I really need the opposite, I need to see the roku screen on my computer, it is a pain having to toggle back and forth between roku and my computer every few minutes, not to mention having to share the roku with my girlfriend... I guess that is the only benefit of not having the post...

Re: Web Browser

I think chris0071 has hit the nail on the head with why shoehorning a web browser on to the Roku is a bad idea. If this was 1995 and 99% of content on the web was simple HTML and images, then sure. But these days the web ranges from HTML to Javascript to Java to Flash to HTML5 to you name it. Roku ...

Re: Web Browser

This has been discussed to death. If you want a browser on your tv, buy a laptop and hook it up. The roku is a digital media player. It has an interface designed to access supplied media and play that media when selected. If you want a browser, then get out there and code it yourself. I don't think ...

also, this: $hourz = intval($seq / 3600); if ($hourz < 10){ $hourz = "0$hourz"; } $minutez = intval($seq / 60) % 60; if ($minutez < 10){ $minutez = "0$minutez"; } $secondz = $seq%60; if ($secondz < 10){ $secondz = "0$secondz"; } $ss = "$hourz:$minutez :$secondz &qu...

Re: any PHP experts here? need some help

$hourz = intval(intval($seq) / 3600); $minutez = intval(((intval($seq) / 60) % 60)); $secondz = intval(intval(($seq % 60))); those three lines are equivalent to $s = $seconds%60; $m = floor($seconds/60)%60; $h = floor($seconds/60/60); you don't need to intval($seq) cause $seq is already an integer....

Re: any PHP experts here? need some help

1. I think your code complications comes in your misunderstanding of loops and also of type conversion. PHP does auto type conversion, so if you have $a="000" and $i=1, then $a+$i is equal to 1 because the + converts both to numerics then adds them. 2. Your first if statement inside the wh...

Re: any PHP experts here? need some help

Ok, I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to do since there is no reference to any actual time constraints, but this should help you replace that chunk of code: function secondsToTime($seconds) { $s = $seconds%60; $m = floor($seconds/60)%60; $h = floor($seconds/60/60); return sprintf("%02d:%0...

Re: spanish channels

The challenge is finding the content. 1. Find a website with the content you want to see on Roku. Ask if this is possible. It may be possible if the content is available in a format the Roku can read, or it may not be possible if it is only in something like flash. 1.A. Contact websites that have co...

Re: any PHP experts here? need some help

If you want proper help, you should post your php code. it looks like you are not keeping track of your minutes and not resetting your seconds. Or your seconds->hours/minutes/seconds routine does not work properly. To handle the left padding of minutes, you should try printf("%02d",$minute...

Re: Springboard Progress Indicator questions

It's been a while since i've done brightscript coding, but from what I remember, there is a setting for the track length on the audio player screen that you can set. That and linking the audio player to the audio screen and then the system takes care of the progress indicator for you.

Re: Feature Suggestion - Archive while playing

don't hold your breath. this would be a security breach for licensed content (netflix, amazon, etc). it's a streaming device. it doesn't download and save, it only buffers and plays.

Re: Can the roku player loop video/photos?

The roku doesn't support playing off a local network unless you use one of the server/channel combos out there. At that point it would be up to the channel developer and whether they implemented that feature or not. Internally (as a developer), the roku doesn't really support video or picture playli...

i gotta say, i love your work nowhereman, but I hate the "Categories" interface as a default interface. My ideas for your channel are this: Main screen has several options: Settings, My Account, Top Videos, Watched Accounts Settings: You could do this any number of ways and it should expan...

Re: My Media - Your Music and Video on the Roku DVP

I think that this channel is reaching the tipping point of features vs usability. All the features are great, but I really think you need a database to take it to its full potential. You could use tagging for organization You could use tagging to make playlists Allow searching better shuffle/randomi...
