Re: DTS files not folding down to dd5.1 when dts is disabled

Isn't this more of a Plex question? Have you tried their forum? My only suggestion would be to re-encode using AC-3 5.1 and then Plex could direct play. You should be able to copy the video track and only re-encode the audio.

Re: Captions

I think Roku has become less picky about SRTs. I used to have the occasional issue, but haven't in quite some time. I usually extract the subtitles myself and I always save them in UTF-8 encoding. If you want to send me an example of a file that doesn't work I can PM you my email address so I can ta...

The tv it works on is a 2.5 year old jvc that came with the roku stick in the box.

What's the model number of the TV and the stick? It may be an MHL stick and won't work in a regular HDMI port.

Are you sure you're not trying to plug it into the USB port?

Re: Help connecting to developer program

Enabling developer mode requires the box to reboot, so it may have been given a new IP address by your router. Go into Settings->Network->About to see what IP address your box has and put that address into the URL bar.

Re: No wifi access

If it's still possible, I'd exchange it.  You can try contacting Roku support , but they'll probably run you through a bunch of steps you've already tried.  If you go the support route, beware of all the scammers out there if you just do a web search for "Roku support".  Just use the link ...

Re: Phone to Roku - Portrait Orientation

There's no setting that would accomplish that and given that the primary purpose of a Roku is to stream video I sincerely doubt it would ever be added. I'd say you're probably the only person in the world that wants to watch a thin strip of a video surrounded by huge amounts of blackness, but I see ...

Re: No wifi access

Also I noticed in the settings my wifi Mac address is all 0's. That's not good.  The first thing to try would be to unplug it for a few seconds and then plug it back in (I'd disconnect the power and HDMI cable just to be sure). If that doesn't work, there's some resets you could try from the "...

Re: TCL Roku TV channel versions are old

The TV is 8.0.0, the sticks are 8.0.1. So why wouldn't my TV be updating? Is that TCL's fault? Do I need to reach out to them to find out about getting an update? thanks ron Shawn's response notwithstanding, TVs often are the last devices to get firmware updates from Roku. Don't bother contacting T...

Re: Private SpeedTest Channel ..... what happened?

So the official response is that Ookla is claiming trademark infringement as well as a violation of their TOS.  I'm a little surprised it took them almost 8 years to decide this, but I can't really argue with it.  Be patient; there will probably be some kind of replacement eventually.

Re: TCL Roku TV channel versions are old

Are your sticks and your TV on the same firmware version (Settings->System->About - Software version)? If your sticks are on a later version they may get channel updates that aren't supported by earlier firmware versions. You'll just have to wait until your TV's firmware gets updated.
