Re: HELP!! Static Analysis Results

You need the pkg file and the password that was used to create it. To be honest, I don't think the actual devID is useful and the hardware doesn't matter. If you have the password and pkg, use the Rekey utility from the web interface on the Roku device.

Re: How to use the .PKG file?

After you go to "Manage My Channels", click on "Preview and Update" next to the channel you want to update, then choose "Package Upload" from the "Preview and Publish" drop-down list. You may have noticed, the developer website absolutely blows.

Re: How to use the .PKG file?

If you created a private channel in your developer account , just do a "Package upload" with your new package.  Click on Submit to "commit" the new package.  Make sure you update the version number in the manifest or you won't get the new version when you do a "System update...

Do you have 2 files in your source directory with an init function?

Re: Legacy SDK deprecation

When you side-load the channel check the output on the debug console (port 8085). It will probably print out several warnings about deprecated components being used.

Re: ButtonGroup never hasFocus

Thanks! I really need to read the docs more, but I'd rather slog through and just get my channels converted. Maybe I'll read later. It just seems to me that a node should hasFocus() if any of its children does, but I guess there may be something to be said for only one node being able to have ...

ButtonGroup never hasFocus

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this roSG stuff. I noticed that if I have a CheckList and a ButtonGroup within a scene I can use setFocus() to switch between them, but calling hasFocus() on the ButtonGroup always returns false (even when a button has the focus). This seems wrong to me. Calli...

It sounds to me like you have a feature that many have asked for in the past. :) How about just muting the TV?

Re: Has anyone else stopped getting test ads?

I noticed it yesterday when I was working on one of my channels. I haven't tried today. Maybe it's Roku's way of demonstrating what you're likely to see when you're using them as your ad provider.

Re: Roku Canada - not worth it

On my Express+ box (which shows Amazon Video on the box) it states under "What you should know":   Channels can change and vary by country .  I don't think you can take a sample home screen picture on the box as any kind of guarantee that those channels are actually available in your count...

Re: Consumable Product?

I'm not sure what you're asking. Within the channel/app, you just get whether or not the purchase succeeded from roChannelStore like any other purchase. I can get a history of transactions from https://developer.roku.com/transactions, but to be honest I don't really keep track of whether or not a us...

Re: YouTube Version / Functionality

The speed-up/slow-down must be happening at the source. I don't believe a Roku has the ability to alter the playback speed. If it does, it's not documented, so making your own app won't do you any good (and violates Google's ToS).

Scene Graph functions outside of Task node

So according to this , roRegistrySection can only be used in a Task node.  I know previously (at least previous to v8.1) doing something like: sect = CreateObject("roRegistrySection", "section") from the init function of a scene would return invalid .  I just tried it on v8.1.0 b...

Re: Consumable Product?

Glancing through the documentation I didn't see anywhere that it states that a One-Time Purchase of a consumable product isn't an option, but I do use them in one of my channels. Users are able to purchase the same product again and again.

cachefs might be what you're looking for: https://sdkdocs.roku.com/display/sdkdoc/File+System

It's relatively new and I have no experience with it.
