The roku is basically platform independant. It has the ability to mount network shares and playback various audio formats and MPEG2 video.

The PB doesn't have a DVD player. The issue with the IO player is upconverting of standrd DVD's via component connections which is specificaly not allowed under the DVD licensing agreement.

ISOs are a disk image. I assume your PC is simply reading the image via its internal DVD player. generally you have to mount the file as a disk image to play them back but its interesting that you can do so only by renaming them to mpg. The Readynas NV from Infrant streams high bitrate 24.6 M2T files with only the very occasional glitch. Lower bitrates play flawlessly. I give it the highest recomendation possible.
