Re: Missing Remoku toolbar icon

Can you help me locate the Firefox add-on icon? It mentions being in a toolbar but I've looked in all of them. I am able to use it in its own tab for both my Roku 3's. Edit: Sorry if I should have started a new thread. Hmmm...interesting. Something in the new UI of Firefox changed...the extension w...

Re: Remoku (updated Firefox add-on: February 14, 2014)

Can support be added for using public IPs with re-mapped ports? Just replied to your email, but here is the gist.. :) Hi Bryan, I've been sidetracked on other projects for too long :) ... I thought about this some...and I don't want to encourage users to expose their Roku to the public internet(too...

Re: All I See Are Blank Squares

The menu display on my Roku2 (with SD card) often won't update and show shows available. Mostly I just see a screen full of blank squares. Sometimes, some squares have a graphic and others do not. But most of the time all are blank and the only way to get anything displayed is to get exit the app a...

Re: Issue with Roku 3 Search Screen Permanently Displaying

No - the issue is not resolved. Still trying to work it with Roku support, but they don't seem to keep very good notes with the case logs. I keep restating the problem, and that's as far as I get. You may want to contact RokuShawnS (he posted to the thread a couple posts up) with your case number(s...

Re: TV Off Sends Roku to Screensaver

^+1 Or, program activity in the IR Universal remote (if you got one) - i.e., TV Off, Roku UP/Home, BDP Off, AVR Off, .. etc. This makes the most sense given the limitations of what can be done automatically. I'd send two or even three Home presses, just to be sure. As an example, if audio is playin...

Re: Change Name on Network from "Roku Streaming Player

I notice that in addition to AllCast, another app I use on Android, called AirAudio, has also introduced the ability to rename a Roku. Tap and hold the Roku's icon in the app, and rename it. This tells me that the renaming of Roku devices on our account at Roku.com doesn't necessarily rename how al...

Re: XS - Reset does not delete old account

Contact CS. Something's wrong. The factory reset should have unlinked the box from the account. Hello: Not true. The Roku is linked on the previous owner's account. There is a Roku SN and user account that is still active. You need to unlink your Roku device from the original device account in orde...

Re: Yet another WiFi Direct is jamming my home network threa

One more thing I can suggest trying, if you feel like it :) Change the wifi network name. There's no reason (I know of) the Roku should follow the channel changes once it's not attached to the wifi network any longer...but changing the name is the last reasonable thing I can think of to suggest that...

Using the wifi analyzer, what does the Roku wifi network show? (Channel, strength, etc.)? Can you post a screenshot of the analyzer's screen showing the issue? Thanks!

Re: Should Roku ditch Brightscript.

I notice the channels that don't use Brightscript like Netflix and YouTube look great but most channels like Amazon are so butt ugly. My question is that I think Roku should ditch Brightscript and have all the channels in whatever Netflix and Youtube use. Channel developers are free to make their o...

Re: HA! $3.99 and up - Roku Newsletter

Yes, in digital streaming(as well as most other industries), it is standard practice to state the lowest possible cost in advertisements. In this case, $3.99 is the price for SD, while HD would cost more. Roku/M-Go are in no way doing anything unique by stating the cheapest available price: If you l...

Re: "Roku 3 tops Amazon FireTV, AppleTV and Chromecast ..."

- better warranty (1yr vs 90 days) - voice search (not available on any Roku) - DD+ Surround Sound (not available on any Roku) - faster processor (3x faster quad code vs dual core on Roku 3) - more memory (2g vs 512m) Nitpick: Voice search can be done on Roku via the mobile apps. It is not as integ...

Re: Pandora strikes first partnership with independent artis

There is no "could". It's very clear Pandora sells customer usage data. How in the world do you think Pandora makes money with a free service? Adds. Also their "premium" service makes money. But you are correct they almost certainty sell usage data. I just hope they do not becom...

Re: roku file content

No, Roku places a lot of security restrictions on apps. For example, each one is executed in sandboxed environment, and they are physically stored either in internal memory, or in an encrypted partition on an SD card (for those models that support SD cards). Channel code can be distributed outside o...

Re: Works: Roku + Chome (with chromecast plugin) + Youtube

Hello: What would be cool is to find Chromecast apps that also work with Roku. We know YT does, but are there other third-party apps designed for CC that may also beam/cast to Roku? The answer lies within the casting protocol they use within the app (DIAL, Miracast, etc.). Chromecast apps have two ...
