Now that I have my MediaCenter PC up-and-running , I'm loving it. So, it's time to sell the Roku. It's a 1.5 year-old revision A whose power supply was replaced by Roku 2 months ago. I have the original box, remote, directions, etc. Since the power supply was replaced, the unit is in mint condition....

Just wanted to say goodbye and thanks to all the folks that have worked hard to answer my questions on this forum and supply the great 3rd-party applications. I've spent the last week building a MediaCenter PC based-on AOpens Cube Mini. For my purposes, it beats the PB in all respects (except cost)....

I've gotten the black strip at the bottom of roughly 10% of my videos since I first started using the Roku. I even had a couple posts back then, and we couldn't find a solution. I'm assuming that the current issue is nothing new. It must just be the movie, how it was ripped, or a combination of both...

The only reason most of the units that have failed are revision A is because they are older. Now that the revision B models are reaching that age, they will start to fail as well.

I have it hard-wired to a Linksys WRT54G. I don't have any problems with shares that I set up through the Roku UI, so they have to be doing something different than in the script I wrote. I'll try removing one and see what happens. The thing that is strange is that the shares added through the GUI are always fine. They never drop. My guess is it's just a case of confusion with the terminology.

Actually, I think the mounting I did was pulled directly from something you previously posted. When I get a chance, I will put the script on here.

Just wondering if anybody had any thoughts on this... Thanks to a couple other posters, I wrote a boot script that runs on my CF card. It enables the swap file and mounts 5 shares. 3 of the shares work fine while the other 2 fail in odd ways. The 2 that don't work are pointed to Infrant ReadyNAS x6 ...

I'm running gigabit. It wasn't a big deal, just slower than I thought.

I'm using two 1.6TB NAS boxes from Infrant running RAID5. They work great! Very slow for bulk writing (14 hours for 350GB), but fast for one-off writes and reading.
