Re: Roku 3 creates wifi hotspot that conflicts w/my router

So if I understand this correctly, the WIFI hotspot conflict can be resolved by using a wired Ethernet connection?

Also, I plan on using a universal IR remote, and never activating the Roku remote. Will this also alleviate the problem?

Check out the new Western Digital WD TV Live. It does everything the Roku did plus more all for only $120 at Best Buy.

And the unit is only 5x5x2 inches and has no noisy fans!

Agreed! While the Photobridge was initially ahead of its time and not well marketed or understood, the time is now ripe for a floodgate of users out there to get their hands on this device. All the new devices of late, like the Linksys DMA2200, rely on Windows Vista to operate, but most of us still ...

Icepack - If I'm reading your message correctly, does your vendor have access to new PhotoBridges? And, are they Rev B?

I'd like to get my hands on one if he does!

HD1000 Rev B with dead power supply for sale

Another HD1000, Rev B bites the dust. Perfect in all respects, except for the power supply. For sale with remote and original box.

I decided it's not worth repairing, as newer technology is now coming out.

The unit is 16 months old and is cosmetically flawless.

Zargon,

I don't quite follow your thoughts. If I am trying to stream music and photos from my PC to my TV, then wouldn't it be necessary to have the computer tuned on?

There is a new product coming out which exceeds the Roku capabilities and it will cost only $349 with a built-in wireless receiver.

It is made by Netgear.

I just checked the Netgear spec sheet for this unit and it does support Windows media DRM. This unit apparently does much more than the Roku ever did and it is less money with built-in wireless circuitry. Here's the spec sheet: http://www.netgear.com/upload/product/eva8000/enus_ds_eva8000_11dec06.pdf

The retail price of the Netgear unit is $349 and it includes a built-in wireless receiver.

The only drawback I see from the pictures is that it doesn't have a component video pass through, which I require for my setup for lack of multiple component inputs.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. The automatic switchbox is intriguing, but expensive. In my case, the easiest solution will be to use the component video pass through feature of the HD1000 to send video to the DVD input of my TV while simultaneously sending the HD1000 audio output to Video 1 in...

NO DIGITAL AUDIO PASS THRU CONNECTIONS

When setting up the HD1000 in a pass thru configuration, video is wired using component in and out connections. I'm trying to set the Roku in-line between my DVD player and TV. My DVD player outputs digital audio, but there is no way to connect this as an input to the Roku. So obviously, digital aud...
