I just joined the ranks of the Roku-less: bought it July 2005, RIP May 31, 2007. It will be shipped off to Pyramid Audio on Monday.

It's pretty amazing that just about every one of these things appears to be faulty.

Hmm, odd. I've tried it probably 15 times over the last couple of weeks with no success. Could you try "Blood Diamond" now and see if it works for you?

I am unable to find this program on the web. Is it still available and can it still be used? Thanks John I still use it. I found this link with a Google search: http://www.rokulabs.com/community_3rd_pb.php If that version doesn't work for some reason, feel free to PM me and I can send you what I ha...

I'm truly confused by your question. DVDs are already in MPEG-2 format. They are usually encrypted, which is why you need to use a special program or programs to play the files or burn a DVD. There is no "converting" necessary. Use the program(s) I mentioned, copy the ISO (or the decrypted...

When you say "uncompressed", I assume you mean no more than the original DVD (MPEG is of course a compressed format)? If so, IMO the best free option currently is RipIt4Me, which integrates with DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink. The latter two are no longer supported and won't work on their own ...

LOL. Search is your friend. To sum up, it's a Roku limitation and they are not supporting this hardware anymore. Not going to happen, sorry.

Maybe they figured all the power supplies would be dead before then.

Re: Recent Problem DVD rips

Give DVDFab Decrypter a try. It seems to work well on newer DVDs that DVD Decrypter has problems with. TheEndless I've recently moved to RipIt4Me in lieu of DVDFab Decrypter, which was hit or miss with some. RipIt4Me is completely free, integrates with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink, and is updated v...

You can use DVDDecrypter (freeware); however, it is no longer in development, so doesn't work on all new discs. Fo...

I apologize for this basic question, but could someone explain the benefit (if any) of using ISOs vs. VOBs for ripped DVDs? I'm wondering if there is any reason for me to go back through and convert my files. Thanks.
