gaucho, your program must run on an external Linux server? Can it be converted and ran as a daemon on the Roku itself? Cheers. I developed and run the program on an unslung NSLU2 unit. That is a linux-like server. I have not tried compiling on other platforms, but I'm pretty sure it would be no pro...

Hi all, I've completed a new version of the M-alarm program. This version allows the user to choose trigger key and command key and it can now be used to control the sleep timer on all soundbridge models. Download the program here and try it. (Binary for NSLU2, source code in c, and a README) Have f...

I've been away from the forums for a few weeks but I'm pleased to see that some SB owners find the program useful.
I'll try to find some time to make some modifications as requested and let you know of any new versions.

Yesterday I installed my new SB Radio and I too am somewhat disappointed by the sound quality. It sounds sort of dull and it becomes worse at low listening volume. Stereo imaging is also pretty weak. I own an M1000 and an M2000 and have been recommending SB to others. However, I would not recommend ...

Alarm for M models using remote

Hi all, This might be of interest to soundbridge owners that have some kind of linux server running and especially to those that are using an NSLU2 as their music server. I have written a piece of c-code that connect to the soundbridge and activates the alarm screen after 3 consecutive presses of th...

Yep - great explanation! One query though: Why does my setup run flawlessly for days on end? Don't know. I wish mine would. What I do know is that the behaviour I described can be reproduced every time, with an M1000 and an M2000. Maybe the difference is in the M1000/M2000 vs M1001 (bonjour vs RSP?...

My experiences with a speedtouch 780 confirm the third explanation. My soundbridge (wireless) always sees firefly after restarting the soundbridge and then after exactly 2 hours it says "No music libraries found". This is because the soundbridge does a multicast query upon startup requesti...

Another candidate is the Lacie Ethernet Disk Mini.
This unit comes with a builtin Twonky server and is compatible with your soundbridge. Prices start around €200

Hmm guess I won't be upgrading just yet then. Why should I have to have updates to my M1000 that reduces functionality, due to limitations of the HomeMusic device, which I don't own? Release separate firmwares imo. I think you misunderstand. The 2.7 firmware dims the display of a Pinnacle home musi...

If you think this might be alarm related you might want to check the alarm settings of the M1000.
Telnet into the M1000 and issue the command: irman dispatch CK_ALARM
That brings up the alarm interface on the display.

One of my colleagues (after me having convinced him to buy a soundbridge  ) has excellent results with a Lacie Ethernetdisk Mini. That one comes with a builtin Twonky server.

While internet radio may not deliver a "perfect digital copy", the quality is as good as the downloads that are offered by legitimate companies. The first thought that went through my mind after discovering internet radio through my soundbridge was "wow, this is great!" The secon...

gaucho, Can you please describe your configuration and how you got the WD MyBook Essential External drive to spindown on the NSLU2 running Unslung 6.8? There are postings throughout many forums where folks were unable to get the WD to spin down the disk. Are you using NTFS or EXT3? I assume you are...

Hi, Today my M2000 arrived (got it from ebay :) ). It is a new unit, in original box, with all the plastic and other packaging still on. Unfortunately it came without a PSU... I'll ask the seller to send me a PSU for an M2000 or refund me for one, but in the meantime, I can only dream of how g...

I'm running an nslu2 with unslung 6.8 and stable firefly. Unslung to stick in usb port 1 and with a western digital mybook 320 gb disk in usb port 2. (This is one of the few external disks that do automatic spindown) I'm really happy with the setup (don't need a 'big' pc running all the time), but t...
