Re: FilmStruck channel

...Billy T, thanks for your info/input.  I also have my Roku 1 and a 2/m3100 (still using everyday. As new streaming channels pop-up I slowly am weeding out some older channels and adding ones that better fit my needs.  'FilmStruck'  TCM is a good one, plus it is offering 'Criterion' collection bund...

Re: Britbox

Britbox sounds good, a bit high on sub, but content will decide.  Comment made that Acorn is a bit stale...is too kind, I have been a subber since beginning.  Have gotten a lot of enjoyment from content at a fair monthly price...however 'very stale' is more correct.  This past year has just been a l...

Re: Sling "NO CREDIT CARD REQUIRED"....GUESS, what happens after i go thu the Sling process?

Not really sure how Sling utilizes the commercials.  The ones I watched were legit.  I'm sure various ad companies offer various pkgs.  Maybe they do this sort of thing on 'special offers' and their 7 day free trial.  Since you have asked the question, hopefully a person or two that has Sling will g...

Re: Sling "NO CREDIT CARD REQUIRED"....GUESS, what happens after i go thu the Sling process?

I signed on for the '2 day free' weekend with no problem, same as others noted, but also as another noted...Sling is overloaded with commercials.  A episode of Big Bang Theory (1/2 hr show had 10 ads at beginning another 10 halfway thru...that was enough for me, I shut it off.  In fairness, the ads ...

Re: Questions on Compatibility w/ Old Tube TVs

Just a nice thought...with 'mothers day' not too far off, why not you and family/friends treat her to a 'new' tv.   Her old tube set is certainly going to breakdown, and  would not be worth cost to repair, or even  done.  A new large screen tv is available for the same cost  or lower than what her o...

Re: FilmRise, Cinematique

Since the inception of any 'Ad-Rise' connected channel(s), I just ignore it.
They all seem to have too many problems/annoyances: ie; way to many ads, stalls, blank screens, no play , etc.

Re: Filmon TV channel not working

I thought that FOTV (Roku channel) was the ';rebranded' FilmOn.
I tried it, pretty much the same layout, including a 'film on' click-on.
Never a big fan of FilmOn...and not of FOTV either.

Re: Roku Launches 500-Plus Live Channels And 50,000 On Demand Titles Courtesy Of FOTV

As noted on another thread" FOTV channel is just 'rebranded' from FILM ON channel.
You are correct, in that, a lot of 'niche' material.  Film On, (for me) is a lot of re-hash, much of it does not even play or que up properly, and tons of ads.

new channel, US UK. Info.

Anyone with a 'sub' to this new channel, any general info would be appreciated.

Is it just the TV Guide for UK programming ?...or does it stream shows via Roku ? I understand that the 'itv player' will not work in the USA.

Thank you.

Re: SuperBowl Options for Cable Cutters?

Add me this list...as others stated, CBS Sports channel via Roku made my day of 'Super Bowl'. Not one problem thruout game...and it was a good one. CBS took a chance and broke the ice big time. Many thanks to all involved. I believe that the TV industry is finally understanding that 'internet' users...
