Re: May have bought the last Roku i will buy...

I'm pretty entertained that the OP is complaining about spending $36 and you guys are recommending he go out and buy a $180 Nvidia console or $300 in Apple gear. That's what I'm running these days. I bailed out of Roku a couple of years ago. Too many serious bugs. It was the nature of the beast fiv...

Re: May have bought the last Roku i will buy...

Not trying to judge here, but why have (any of) you purchased so many Rokus? I haven't used mine in a year and a half, but all three I purchased still work... Upgrading.  Same reason why someone keeps buying new TVs and soon they have a house with  2 or 3  or more TVs . Big screen Standard Tv was f...

Re: 2nd post

As no one responded to my first post, I will try again...This is my email to Roku's Lack of support, Who I did call but they were clueless...... My Ultra will not play 4k content on a Sony XBR65X900E TV. The message says "HDCP Unauthorized" But the display settings say "detected HDR...

Re: May have bought the last Roku i will buy...

For me, this is just a hobby these days. A new streaming box comes out I buy it. I have eight televisions around the house. Most just have one streaming media player but some have two or three streaming media players, the family room has four. Every player has its pluses and minuses. If I had to go ...

Re: May have bought the last Roku i will buy...

While the "Nvidia Shield TV" does not have a headphone jack it does have Bluetooth and I believe you can pair just about any Bluetooth headset with it and listen that way. As a disclaimer I have not tried that but I think it should work and work well and many Bluetooth headsets are a LOT ...

While not priced at the same level, Apple TV has Bluetooth and the Airbuds pair up nicely.

Re: Roku Premiere + DNS issue & Cisco RV320 router

I'm a little late responding but the RV320 works fine with Roku. I have been using an RV325 for five years now. As a matter of fact I use the load balancing feature and it works well. I'll be curious what you guys find. I am not having any issues. It has to be either a configuration issue or there i...

Roku 3 perfect, no problems, Roku 1 slow but reliable, Roku LT the same.

Roku 3 was the best and I thought oh they finally have it down. Then came Roku 4----splat. Here we go again... I gave up and switched to FireTV and a few Android devices.

Re: Roku 4 a dud?

In light of these postings about the Roku 4, I would suggest purchasing a 4k TCL TV if you want the Roku experience with 4k capabilities.  Well I already spent $1,400 on a different 4K television. I don't think it's too much to ask for my Roku to work properly with it. 4k devices I am happy with bo...

"I really would research that purchase and one place to start would be the Plex/Shield forum. A quick read down through that mess is more than enough to convince me that unit is definitely not ready for prime time." My Shield works great. The Nvidia Shield is not a platform designed for th...

Re: Roku 4 a dud?

Mine is a turd, actually since the latest round of updates haven't been using the Rokus in general much at all. The audio is all over the place. It is really annoying. But the R4 in particular has its own unique set of issues. My wife just says that thing is unusable. I tend to agree, the mode switc...

Re: Does the streaming stick support WEP keys?

If you must have that old 802.11B device and the supporting router put it on an isolated network. There is nothing but bad here for your television streaming, security, and on and on. If you have to have that old device of yours running isolate it. It will make your entire home network slow and inse...

$35 lowest package.  Ouch, that's a rough sell.

I mean Sling is giving away rokus just to try their lowest package for a month.

So is DirecTV. I signed up for 3 months to get an ATV4. Other people are taking the FireTV stick option.
