it updated well. , now i cant seem to actually get the music to play. its saying at the top in red letters, 'cannot recognize the file type' or something like that. its a mp3 file and showing up in the list, but wont actually play yet. almost there! thanks for all the guidance. i figure that my port...

If it's never even getting to the "Unable to locate SlimServer" screen, then it's never even getting to the application, so it's probably not a network issue. hi again. When i click on the slimroku icon on the TV screen, it says "please wait" like its tryingt to load, then it just does nothing and the screen appears just as before with the basic HD1000 display screen. thanks for the reply, ill keep that in mind. The computer has norton security installed so the windows Firewall is off. I checked in the norton firewall settings and slim.exe i noticed was added automatically as an exception during installation of Slimserver, it was nice to see. Norton security does...

thanks for the tips. i am thinking that the DSL modem/Router has a built in firewall like alot of them do these days. its one of those Westell WiFI dsl modem/router. thats what the roku is plugged into.

Sounds like the anlog audio out is going to the one receiver thats correct. i think ill try to use the digital out to get sound to the 2nd receiver, and also try to patch a line from the receiver that gets sound, to a line-in on teh other receiver. they cant change out amps this late in the game, a...
