Re: Roku status on offerring the Vudu channel

Actually, the end result would be something similar to what I did... buy a device like the WD TV Live that supports VUDU and is similarly priced to ROKU ($85 on Amazon). My Visio TV even has VUDU. It's disappointing that ROKU doesn't have it, but then again ROKU has been disappointing me a lot latel...

Re: Sync all files of folder

Any update on this? How about posting the line from the Autorun that needs to be edited? In my case, one minute isn't nearly fast enough. I need to update every 5 to 10 seconds. I can make the change in the XML, but it doesn't seem to effect all of the RSS feeds I have on the screen (four of them). ...

Remotely change SSID?

Using a HD210W, and I was wondering if it's possible to change the SSId of the device remotely. Once these units are deployed, I won't have easy access to swap out the SD card with new a new setup. Ideally, I want to change the SSID remotely. All attempts I have made so far have not worked.

Re: FilmOn Private Channel issues?

I know that when the riots were taking place in London, my wife and I used the FilmOn channel to watch the BBC streaming news coverage. We watched for hours on end and never had real issues. She, being from London, was very excited to be able to watch BBC, iTV and others that she knows so well. It's...

FilmOn Private Channel issues?

I've been an avid fan of the FilmOn channel, but about a week or so ago it stopped working. The channel loads, but most of the thumbnails don't. None of the streams seem to work. Is anyone else having this issue? Is this an official channel from FilmOn or something someone else made? Thanks! Chris

Re: Roku 2 Random Restarts?

My ROKU 2 XS has done this three of four times now over the last day. First it was in Crackle, another time in the menu going through channels, and all the others have been in Netflix.

I don't have this problem with the ROKU 1 that I have.

Re: XML - Categories/Levels Question

I got it to work! My last change was adding this line 'o.Feed = xml@feed' in CategoryFeed.brs to Function ParseCategoryNode just before this line 'elseif xml.GetName() = "categoryLeaf" then' Any chance you would share all of the changes you made? I'm trying to do the exact same thing and ...

Re: Starting From Scratch - Advice Needed

Um.. yeah, it does. Why the rolling eyes? Please don't read anything into that. That was me feeling a bit stupid for not realizing that on my own. No one said you were alone in your frustrations. You asked a question about why there were 11 files, and I was trying to explain it. The videoplayer exa...

Re: Starting From Scratch - Advice Needed

categoryLeaf isn't a BrightScript component. It's a node in the XML being used in that example, and is specific to that example (see the categories.xml file). Well, that explains why I didn't find it, doesn't it? You don't *need* 11 files. You can put all of that code in the same file, but i...

Re: Video Tutorials for explaining how to create application

I would LOVE to have a site with good, step by step tutorials. And if there is an app that simplifies the building of Brightscript apps, I'm 100% for that! Apple has proven that the key to success for a device is to have an app store with a bounty of apps people can get. But for the love of all that...

Re: Starting From Scratch - Advice Needed

Bud, So glad to hear I'm not the only one with this frustration. While I don't have the programming experience you do, I have managed to teach myself other programming languages. I have built apps for iOS and Android devices. I've learned PHP, Javascript and loads of others. This has to be the LEAST...

Re: Streaming Help

Any update on this? I'm having the same symptoms. The stream I'm trying to play is 900kbps, so I don't think it's a minbandwidth issue, but I'm new at this so I'm open to being TOTALLY wrong.
