New URL for KPBS San Diego Public Radio

The URLs on Radio Roku for KPBS are no longer working. Here's the updated URL:

http://live.str3am.com:2050/

FWIW I submitted this info on radioroku.com as well.

Actually, there are two types of volume leveling: 1) The "replay gain" method. This just tries to fix the problem that there's no agreed upon level standard for recording CDs. It analyzes the audio and calculates a single gain factor for each track which, when applied to a track, will mak...

The lack of volume normalization (leveling) is the one major flaw with the SB. Since I use MP3gain (available for free) this is not a problem for me anymore :) Don't know if other formats than MP3 are supported. There's support (at least) for AAC (aacgain). Don't know about wma since I don't use it...

I would not vote for these, but would not complain so long as they were not a default option. The lack of volume normalization (leveling) is the one major flaw with the SB. It really detracts from an otherwise excellent product. In my view the SB is a good product because it does not generally do t...

I voted yes here because it's important to me. But, please correct me if I'm wrong, I think there's a fundamental problem with Roku trying to implement something like ReplayGain in the firmware?? AFAIK, the issue will be that the SoundBridge doesn't understand or try to do anything with tags on aud...

Replaygain would be a good solution to the problem if the soundbridge supported it, but it doesn't AFAIK. You probably already knew this but it wasn't clear from your post.

I haven't been able to figure that out yet. I haven't had a chance to use the SB much in the last few days. I wrote a Python script to help figure out which song it crashes on when it crashes, so hopefully I'll have a chance to try duplicating the crash next time.

Actually, the log is persistent. It's not lost after a reboot.

Have you checked the log? To get it you telnet to port 4444 on your soundbridge and enter the command "log" without quotes.

Off-topic, but I'm curious

Rob, does that NAS have a "sleep mode" or some such way of conserving power and reducing noise when it's not in use? I've got an external HD enclosure that I planned to use as "always-on" storage but it never spins down the drive and generally makes a racket. The N2100 looks pretty sweet to me but I...

Just crashed again with the same error in the log. "User Exception Handler!"

I guess if I'm the only one having this problem I'll need to get my sb500 replaced.

SoundBridge crashing

My m500 is crashing (rebooting) on a regular basis. I just found out about the "log" function on the telnet interface and this is what it shows after a crash: SoundBridge> log SoundBridge startup... User Exception Handler! SoundBridge startup... SoundBridge> I have only checked the log this one time...

The same thing goes for 802.11g. Um, not quite. That's actually quite a bit harder in the case of the soundbridge because they will need to find G-compatible hardware with a compact flash interface. All of the G hardware that I am familiar with is 32 bit, and the interface is either mini-pci or car...
