Re: Does ROKU Offer Mobile Apps For Their Developers?

There is this mobile app -
https://www.roku.com/mobile-app

I am happy I don't have to pay a monthly subscription fee for each of my Roku devices.

Email partnersuccess@roku.com -- that's always worked for me.

Re: Building channel for my podcast - how to find MRSS feed?

You will need to generate your own MRSS Feed if you can't obtain one - Amazon provides a sample here https://creator.amazon.com/documentation/ac/mrss.html#samplemrssfeed  .  Otherwise you could build a parser with the Roku SDK to ingest the data using a different structure.  As long as the ingest/pa...

Re: Option key on PinPad

Keep in mind, if your roku account has a PIN enabled, and you are buying anything through roku billing, the pinpad there is automatically handled by the 'store' component, and has its own set of internal firmware problems that you might not be able to fix.

Re: Option key on PinPad

It sounds like a bug in the firmware.  Another fun trick is to use the store component and press the BACK button on the remote on specific sections of the billing routines which crashes channels since they haven't fixed that either.  If you can get the keypress for the options button with the pinpad...

Re: Building channel for my podcast - how to find MRSS feed?

If you already had a working MRSS feed in your previous version of your Roku Channel, then finding it is super easy, barely an inconvenience.  If you are trying to 'steal someone's feed' then it could be difficult.  Try asking your host provider for your podcast as they might be legally required to ...

Re: Video End Action

Set an observer for the video.state variable, and when it is "finished" your video or playlist playback has completed, and your observer will call the function you specified when you set the observer.  You should be handling 'most' of the state changes - if only to track an error condition.

Re: Testing Channel Before It's Published

"When you convert" your channel?
If you have a private channel and a public channel both will remain unless you delete it or Roku removes it. Typically they remove channels which violate the terms of service you agreed to when enabling developer mode.

Re: Testing Channel Before It's Published

Sure, in the developer portal, under My channels,  click Test Users and add an email address and select the channel they will have for free.  If that isn't good enough, make a private channel and set it to free instead of a subscription.

Re: SDK Wiki Pages?

It might be a priority to at least put the example apps back online that are now inaccessible.  There were more than 70 of those to help developers with scenegraph. You have 6 of them here - https://developer.roku.com/docs/references/scenegraph/playing-videos.md But the one for Labels is not availab...

Re: SDK Wiki Pages?

Not to beat a dead horse 7 feet under after digging to 6, but Roku posted the notice yesterday, May 9, 2019 "Roku will slowly sunset the documentation pages that previously lived on developer.roku.com/publish and /develop over the coming weeks. All content from these pages has been migrated to ...

And then let's delete all the old links so any reference posted to this forum no longer works - https://sdkdocs.roku.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=1608549 That will be an unbelievable help to programmers on our platform. And the Google Cached pages need to be wiped clean too so those don't work e...

SDK Wiki Pages?

Hey, here is an awesome idea!  Let's just change the entire layout and interface for the Roku Online Wiki Developer Documentation.  That's amazing!  And then let's redirect all the links to the old system to the new one so everyone is forced to use it.  Whatever will Roku think of next to make all d...

Re: Working HLS stream gives error in Direct Publisher

What he meant was where Roku Direct Publisher was looking for the channel's content feed file he was entering the URL of the HLS manifest itself. The files inside the content feed can be redirected (302) and still work, but the feed file won't be validated by Direct Publisher if it's not returning a...

Re: Changing playlist items without rebuffering

One valid solution would be to not use a playlist, and simply queue the files singly yourself.
