Re: Check app or channel installed or unstilled

It sounds like you might want to check the Roku Single Sign On functionality here https://sdkdocs.roku.com/display/sdkdoc/Roku+Federated+Identity+Single+Sign-On In the past Roku hasn't notified anyone when a channel is uninstalled, or even when a channel has been installed. But Single Sign-on might ...

Re: Adding menu list in video Screen

You should never use setfocus(FALSE) - because it is redundant. When you set something with Setfocus(TRUE) the firmware automatically sets everything else's focus to false. https://sdkdocs.roku.com/display/sdkdoc/ifSGNodeFocus Even the SDK docs state Setting the remote control focus to false is rare...

Re: In-Channel subscription Method

No.  It will say you are already subscribed so it doesn't show up as an available choice. As I said -- " And you can't sign up again as long as the subscription is still valid " I suppose if you truly wanted to pay more money for stuff you already have access to, you could buy another ...

Re: Third-party subscription

You would need to talk to your Roku account rep to see if you can get a waiver - they do want all apps to use Roku Billing if at all possible but some channels still use third party services with roku's explicit permission.

Re: In-Channel subscription Method

There are no refunds, so if you cancel, you still have access to the channel until it expires.  And you can't sign up again as long as the subscription is still valid.  After it expires you can sign up again if you like.  And like Renojim says - if the user doesn't cancel, then it automatically rene...

Re: In-Channel subscription Method

Why would a 1-time payment be a subscription?  Wouldn't it be a one-time purchase?  Yes there is a difference.

Re: Third-party subscription

If you are using Roku Billing this shouldn't be a problem.  Since Roku Billing is required for certification for us everyday low-level programmers.  You use the Roku account, the firmware displays anything you need, and they sign up.  Then you can send what little data you want to your own server fo...

Re: ToISOString() return wrong date time

If your content list json or xml is generated in realtime on the server via a script, you could have the server provide the time in that file when it is sent to the Roku (as a time from epoch in seconds), or simply run a php script on the server to return the data separately, and then you could star...

Re: Does anyone know how to use the Roku Web API

You should probably ask one of the developers here: https://forums.roku.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=31664
or other tech sites like upwork.com ?

Re: Does anyone know how to use the Roku Web API

Or I suppose you could pay someone to set it up for you -- but that's silly too since the install and setup would be fairly identical for each person who wanted it.

Re: Does anyone know how to use the Roku Web API

I don't think they have anything like that in the wiki pages.  :(  But yes you'll need to receive events, your server will be required to have an SSL certificate as they only use HTTPS for the push notifications, and they need to be able to 100% verify your web server matches the reverse DNS lookup ...

Re: ToISOString() return wrong date time

Perhaps you can check for the date/time, and if it is the default date you receive when there isn't an internet connection available, simply not use the data and check it again later in the application. Although why your device would require the internet but not be able to access the date/time serve...
