Re: NEVER use Roku Billing Services

Why would you give give Roku your new credit card number if you are saying not to use their billing service? You can pay directly for most major services, Hulu, Netfix, etc. I don't mind Roku getting a "taste". It keeps them providing a platform I enjoy. If I  had a problem I would just ca...

No help but just got Hulu a couple weeks ago and have exact same issues. So it's them not you!

Re: Anyone having Problems with the NBC App link to work?

Link was not working when I tried. However new NBC app is in Roku store or what ever they call it now. Channel is not working great though. I lose sound after about 15 minutes of show. New channel bugs I guess.

Re: Comcast blasts FCC's net neutrality ruling

I would not be as optimistic as the rest of you about this decision standing. If an appeal by the carriers makes it to the Supreme Court I would expect a ruling following the same ideological lines that split the commission.

Re: Showtime

The more the merrier and I like the trend. However Netflix and Amazon Prime both now have similar offerings with a catalog of older releases and new series. I will probably cut the cable when the Discovery/History channels follow suit.

Re: "Tubi TV" coming to Roku

We watched a couple episodes of Vincent. It was excellent. Mute button handled ads pretty well. In regards to Adrise showing commercials over and over; I wonder if the advertisers are aware of this? It actually causes a bit of nausea about the product. If they only have one ad they should just show ...

Re: Amazon Prime officially going to $99 / Year

I am good until next Feb. but it may be "iffy" then. With Amazon charging 8% NC sales tax, I am finding cheaper ways to shop online. Decent new content is rare on Amazon Prime or Netflix these days. My $8 a month would probably be better spent on new releases at the Red Box a block away.

Re: Amazon originals... 1 show at a time....

I prefer one episode at a time but that may be my ADD . I prefer a little variety to keep my interest. If they do release them all at once I can watch as I wish so it does not really make a difference to me. It may be cheaper to produce them all at once like they do some movie franchises.

Re: DirecTV Customer for 12+ years...is Roku for me?

I am also a long time Directv customer and the rate increases have far outpaced my fixed income. It is just hard to give up the speed of a DVR, (I am not a patient person). There are a few alternatives such as Hulu Plus, a paid service with lots of unavoidable commercials. If you have access to OTA ...

TMZ

I just tried the TMZ channel. Deleted after about 10 seconds. This is another channel produced by one of the engines that stick an ad (usually the same ad) in front of every segment. How long would a regular TV show last if the networks did this? A lot of these channels are just YouTubish stuff you ...

Re: New Model Roku 4200x hits the FCC

I would be in on any streaming device that offers storage. I had to jump from $18/no DSL to $58/no cable to be able to use my Roku. That is a difference of about 30 Redbox rentals. My neighbors, with Uverse, have Rokus that will not even work in primetime because of congestion. I am sure DRM issues ...

Re: ideas for dvr capability with roku?

There is a simple, legal answer to recording from a Roku: a VCR! VCRs are not subject to most DRM requirements. What you need is a Super VHS VCR. It has Composite and component inputs and the quality is near that of a DVD. You can pick one up off Ebay for about $50 but I often see them at thrift sto...

It now says "sold out". How can they be sold out of streaming movies? Must be a "bit" shortage on the Internet.

JUICE: Android for Roku

This sounds like a great app, Airplay for the Roku/Android. I however I could not get it to work with my Android tablet. Anyone else have any luck?
