Hi Mark- That link specifies that the package is not for Vista - is that simply because Vista is already supposed to have it? And what about http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=90e2942d-3ad1-4873-a2ee-4acc0aace5b6&displaylang=en Should this be installed instead of, in additi...

Hi Thorsten- If VMR is running and you ask Vista to shut down (or restart) it "black screens" with a list of running programs and identifies which one(s) are keeping Vista from shutting down. VMR always stops Vista from automatically shutting down. You can make Vista forcibly shut down VMR...

Hi Tal- I'm still loving this app! Could you please PLEASE do two simple things? 1. Make a new layout that is ONLY now playing (no control buttons) 2. Design it so that the app always switches to this layout when minimized OK, your probably wondering why... Vista has a cool feature called live taskb...

Large is 2200 albums and 500GB. I used to use an ITX machine (Hush Technologies, Via Eden processor and chipset, fanless). It ran as an XP-based data server extremely well, but both WMC 1.0 and 2.0 would cause it to rail the processor at 100% and it would stay there... forever... I doubt the thing e...

I ripped everthing to WMA Lossless and like the sound quality and that I can burn CDs which are the same as the orginal. But now that I want a personal portable music player, I can only find 1 brand, Toshiba Gigabeat S, that plays WMA Lossless. Also see the thread on Windows Media Player 11 Beta 2 ...

Personally I wouldn't recommend ripping to any lossless format - the audio quality of the source material (cassette) simply doesn't justify it. Use some lossy format of your preference

I think this is a good move for Roku, for several reasons. Luckily for me, I purchased the Photobridge - not the Videobridge - so mine still does the job it was intented to do.

You managed to out do yourself - this thing rocks! Since I avoid Paypal like the plague, is there another way to contribute to your efforts?

It is also possible that UPnP isn't installed at all. Go to Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, surf to Networking Services, click the Details button and make sure that UPnP User Interface is checked. I think that the latest issues of XP with SP2 already "slipstreamed" have...

Its a shame that this thread - expressing some valid concerns - has been degenerated into an unconstructive bash session. Wow, thanks.

While it would be of interest to only a small group of people, a non-upsampling chip allows you to listen to your DTS audio files. Through an upsampling chip you'll hear nothing but static. I know that this is really too small a group of people for Roku to worry about, but I wanted to point out tha...

Yes!!! Very fast, I'd guess about 2x faster than my SB1000s. Virtually impossible to read as it scrolls by. It would also be nice if at least some of the metadata could be read so you could select by artist or album for example. Right now it only lists in filename order and that's bad for me given t...

Re: Sound Bridge Radio status update

Heh. No surprises. I refer the reader to my previous post... I suppose I'll be chastised by Roku's apologists for taking Roku to task for blowing their promised ship date by nearly 3 months (and counting). Oh well... Companies, like people, should be held accountable for their actions. Take compani...
