Re: Willow TV on Roku - what's the status?

Nope. Still pretty bad, although not quite as poor as last week. Then again, I subscribed and thoroughly enjoy it on my PC which is fine. This rebuffering issue is only a factor on the Ruku.

Thanks.

Why is Willow TV quality so poor?

So, I understand that there continue to be buffering issues with this (tried again today but after 20 mins started getting the rebuffering issue again). But, beyond that, I'm interested in what quality I should expect. If I watch Hulu Plus sample material I get excellent quality on my TV, which sugg...

Re: Willow TV question

I also ask WillowTv to review it's cancellation policy, I believe it would be to your benefit. It seems to be intended to discourage people from subscribing for their fav series and canceling afterwards. I believe it will do so to certain extent, but more so discourage people from signing up for a ...

Re: Willow TV question

Since Willow support is watching this thread (I included it when I sent an eMail to them with my questions), which is appreciated, I hope they might respond to a question about their cancellation policy. I expressed my frustration at this policy - as have others on this thread - which is an example ...

Re: Willow TV question

While I am disappointed with the whole experience, I am also interested in the quality bar to which Roku holds its content providers. There seems to be general agreement that the Willow channel is not even remotely close to being ready. Where was Roku when it signed off on this channel? Is the objec...

Re: Willow TV question

Mark's reply is spot on. The buffering issue is making Willow TV on the Roku unwatchable. At first, I was unable to even get the test match to load as the channel kept turning off an returning back to the live matches screen. When it did finally load, I noticed the match was significantly behind th...

Re: Willow TV question

The rebuffering seems to me to be a Ruko-specific. Here's why... I just signed up and was absolutely delighted when I was able to watch the Ashes within about 3 mins of signing up for Willow.tv. So far so good. However, then I start getting rebuffering issues VERY regularly, on two levels. First, I ...

By the way, I should add that all the appropriate sharing options in WMP are set to allow access to media. The Roku's show up as devices and are set to "Allow". I can also use the "Play On..." option on Windows 7 (which implies all the basic network plumbing is in place) but the ...

Soundbridge, Zune Pass and Windows 7

I've seen a few comments in this forum about an inability to play Zune Pass content on a Soundbridge from a Windows 7 machine. I am having the exact same issue - the music plays fine from the Windows 7 machine but the Soundbridge fails on the "acquiring license" step. I accept, as someone ...

Don't think there is a way. Why watch CBS news over the internet anyway, it is free OTA. Or are you talking about something that requires you to have cable TV? Yeah, perhaps CBS wasn't the best example (for the reason you state). I guess I'm just looking for news in general and wondered what was ou...

Real time(ish) news

Does anyone know any way to watch near-time (or even live) news channels over the Roku box? I see, for example, references to CBS news but I'm really struggling to think who would watch the news from two days ago :-)

Thanks.

I received my HD-XR today (thanks Roku!). Very nice. I set up Pandora and the first comment from my family was "That's great, but I want to listen to my stuff". So, they are stuck with mine - for now - but the multiple account feature discussed on this thread would make a world of differen...

Re: Multiple accounts for a channel

As has been suggested, a log-in page with pre-defined users (set up in advance) would be my preferred method. Pandora could remain logged in to the last user's account (as some users are much more frequently logged in than others), but easily swappable to another user with a few quick button presse...

Mark, I agree... Give it time, I think we'll see these channels updated as time goes by (hopefully). Thanks Kenny. Just to clarify, the solution I am proposing seems to be independent of any channel - the authentication with the channel would be unchanged, with the "profiles" being a Roku...

Thanks. I guess my point is that it would "work" - but it's not at all optimum and I hope that Roku considers true support for multiple accounts. The issues would seem to extend beyond just support for a significant number of channels - Pandora has bookmarks, records my likes/dislikes and ...
