displaying a web page (SharePoint) ?

Apologies for such a newbie question, but I am looking for clarification and/or confirmation of what capabilities BrightSign has to display a web page? I am exploring the feasibility of using a BrightSign HD210 in place of a regular PC to display a SharePoint web site (or any other web site) on a la...

Assuming that it really is nothing more than a CAT5 or CAT6 ethernet cable... their claims are outrageous.

Howvever, does anyone actually know whether the "DENON-Link" specifications require something other than a regular ethernet cable?

The short answer is, YES it should work! The more detailed answer is that it will depend more on the type of internet service you will have access to than the geographic location. If you can use yopur laptop to find streaming audio web sites, then there should be no reason for your Roku not to work ...

Howdy! It seems that we had too many devices hocked on the Wlan. Once we limited the devices on network to one laptop, it's fine. For reference, before we had two windows based laptops, one nokia N770 internet tablet, and one Nokia E51 all at the same time. So it was too much to handle for the WLAN...

You will need to specify a Static IP address manually on each device if they are connecting directly to each other without the use of a router. The reason is that normally the router provides a DHCP service that assigns IP addresses automatically... but with no DHCP service available, a Static IP is...

You may want to consider using a wireless bridge that supports 802.11g and WPA. Connect the Roku to the wireless bridge via ethernet cable, then let the bridge establish the wireless link to your Linksys access point. I have enjoyed very good results with a Netgear WGPS606. As an added bonus, the hi...

Re: try a Netgear WGPS606

I'd try a Netgear WGPS606. They foolishly (to my mind) pitch this as a wireless print server. What it really is, though, is a wireless bridge with a 4-port switch. It's dead easy to set up, supports WPA-PSK and has been rock solid connected to my Netgear wireless-G router. They can be had on line f...

Logitech Harmony 550 Remote _ feedback?

Anyone here using a Logitech harmony programmable remote with their SoundBridge? I am eager to hear about your experiences, particularly if you have the Model 550. I am considering taking the leap to buy one, but would appreciate some insight from folks with first-hand experience with these units. A...

Which MAC address is your your router capturing?

The Roku has 2 MAC addresses; one for the wireless interface, and another for the wired interface.

For testing purposes, you might want to specify allowing both in the MAC filter table.

Despite various comments pointing out that WEP encryption and MAC address filtering are not secure, I'd like to suggest that these methods are not totally irrelevant. It is technically correct to say that these methods can be circumvented with relative ease by anyone with basic technical abilities, ...

Some devices display minor compatibility issues when autodetecting port speed.

It is almost always better to set port speed manually if you have the opportunity.

RadioRoku status?

It appears that RadioRoku is experiencing an extended outage of some kind.

RokuGuys... it sure would be helpful if you posted status information to inform your users when there is an outage... and ideally also post any info you may have about ETA of service restoration.
