The M1001 etc don't decoder Real streams and Roku are hopefuly working on it...but maybe for a price as Real...

They don't say you can play Radio One do they....? Five and 1Xtra etc do work as they are available in both Real and Microsoft format.

Just fix the address of the server PC then. Yur router might have a reserved range such as x.x.x.100 - 254... if not then create a reserved address or range. Most routers support this feature.

DHCP is nothing to do with name resolving, however it can pass on the name of the DNS servers.

DHCP gives you an IP address and DNS severs.
DNS is a service to resolve names to IP addreses - Microsoft PC's use an alternative NetBIOS for host name announcements on a LAN.

Ethernet bridge feature

How hard would it be to make the unit act as an ethernet bridge such that you can connect a device to the LAN port and use the WiFi interface as a bridge connection to your network.

Very cool and handy too. The other well known wireless streaming audio receiver can do this.

Cant see much advantage in these, just buy an old cheap XP PC from ebay or one of your mates and add as many disks as you like.

Windows Media Center / Vista extender capability

Hello Roku, Have you ever thought of making the unit act as a Media Center / Vista extender like some of the US products Linksys/HP? (and XBox modded or XBox 360 in this country). I know it wouldn't give video out but it would solve issues with Real audio streaming as we could use cable, satellite o...

BBC Radio 2

Just got slimserver and AlienBBC working but i don't like the sound quality plus the Roku GUI isn't so great with Slimserver. Is there are a Windows media stream of BBC Radio 2 anywhere? I have BBC Radio 1 working well.
