Hi, I tried to use my N800 in the same way without any success. It connects to my PC and shows all shared music library and plays on N800. However when I select the Soundbridge as the playback device, Sounsbridge stops whatever is playing and N800 gives an error message saying 'invalid media', unab...

Re: Cidero Workaround for wmp 11

Oliver, Thanks for this!! I am back in business! I made the change you suggested. MediaController and synchronization function are working flawlessly once again. I confess my main interest in the MediaController is to synchronize my M1000 and M500. For this purpose my experience has been that it do...

Hi - WMP11 changed the MIME type they use to represent transcoded files using a syntax I didn't know existed (semicolon-separated sub-fields) It changed from a syntax like: http-get:*:audio/L16:* to http-get:*:audio/L16;rate=44100;channels=2:* Legal syntax apparently, but who knew? :) This change is...

The Cidero controller takes a stab at this...it reportedly works acceptably for some folks... (native Roku support would be better, but it's a non-trivial thing) See documentation on how it works at http://www.cidero.com/multiRendererSync.html Just skip to the bottom of the page to see how to sync u...

Hello - I posted an updated version of the Cidero controller - available on the downloads page at http://www.cidero.com/downloads.html Version 1.5.0 provides a workaround for the WMC discovery 'delay' bug, the ability to move items in the play queue, better support for unicode characters, and fixes ...

Re: Replay Radio UPnP Server

I bought a pretty cool Internet radio recording program called Replay Radio from Applian Technologies a few months ago to catch several Internet radio shows on a weekly basis. Naturally, I wanted to listen to the tracks with my Rokus and while fiddling about with the Replay Radio product I noticed ...

It works. I am a proud owner of a Roku Soundbridge M1001 and a Maxtor Shared Storage 300GB. The MSS is connected to my Netgear wireless router , the Soundbridge has full access to my mp3 database on the MSS wirelessly (WEP encrypted) 24/7 without having a PC running. With the new MSS firmware updat...

Internet radio alarm feature backup

Hello - Since Internet radio stations can sometimes 'go silent' (no connection), I'm wondering if there is a backup buzzer capability, or a jump to another station (rather than endlessly retrying the same, temporarily dead, station) Perhaps after 15 minutes of trying, it could default to a station w...

Hi - You might want to try either the Windows Media Connect or Twonkyvision UPnP media server in combination with the Cidero PC-based controller or the VisualMR PocketPC controller (see the controller/integration threads). Probably not exactly what you want, but Cidero has a Jukebox mode for parties...

Bill -

I patched the contoller and tested with WMC V2, and it works in my configuration now when I run the controller on the same machine as WMC.

It's posted as version 1.4 on the download page.

Lata!

Hello - It looks to me like Windows Media Connect Version 2 is now outputting the 'loopback' address (127.0.0.1) for URLs when browse actions are invoked by a UPnP controller residing on the same machine as the server. The older version 1 didn't do this - it output the network address of the machine...

The RadioServer at http://www.cidero.com can run in a proxy mode where it reads the data from an outside connection, and passes it along to the Soundbridge. In this configuration, the Soundbridge only gets local addresses for radio stations published by the server, never external addresses. The serv...

I would recommend downloading Ethereal if you don't use it already. Then use it to snoop and compare your output packets 'on-the-wire' with those from another server like Twonky. Sometimes it's as simple as needing an extra blank line at the end of the message (For HTTP-like messages with no Content...
