Browsing songs

Hi Thorsten, Congratulations on the new version of VisualMR, and thanks for making it publicly available! Much appreciated! :D I just installed the new PC version, and I noticed that selecting an album (via the "Browse Albums" feature) and then clicking on the "Songs" button at t...

Windows Media Connect 2.0 Beta Program

Guys, Microsoft has just announced a beta program for the next version of WMC. The Microsoft Windows Media Connect Product Team is excited to announce Windows Media Connect v2 beta! If you have a digital media receiver (like the Roku SoundBridge, D-Link Media Lounge, Omnifi DMS1, and more) you need ...

Thanks, mraneri. Great suggestion -- I didn't know that playlists could be simply a list of files! This opens up a lot of possibilities.

Thanks again

Looking for applet

Guys, I'm looking for a simple application that would allow me to right click on a folder containing music files, and would write a playlist with those files in a pre-specified directory. I've searched a lot, but all playlist generators I've found seem to have too many features for what I need, and ...

Hi there, I just downloaded Telcanto and I´m evaluating it as an alternative to WMC, mainly attracted by the ability to browse folders since I rely heavily on folder structure, in addition to tagging, to organize my collection. My collection is WMA Lossless and the main problem I´m having now is t...

Oliver, I know from another thread on the beta forum that you found the bug that caused the "48 KHz" bug. When do you expect to release a revised version of your software that includes the correction? As my library is 100% WMA Lossless, I can hardly wait.... :D Thank you in advance! Miguel

Hi Oliver, First of all, congratulations on your controller software. After some tweaking I was able to make it run (not on the server, though -- I can't get WMC to authorize the "device" to be able to browse the library). However something very, very strange is happening. All my music is WMA Lossle...

In my experience, a signal of 20-25 is inadequate to stream WMA Lossless. I know that you say it worked for you before, but we really recommend somewhere north of 30 for that kind of bandwidth. Mike, I'm not sure I agree with that.... My signal quality hovers around 20, sometimes a even little lowe...

I have noticed that my Roku with the new update doesn't seem to refresh its link as often. If I turn on my computer after the Roku, the Roku doesn't seem to recognize the computer with the new update. Maybe it was just an isolated incident though since no one else seemed to mention this issue. I ag...

Thanks, Roku team! I installed the upgrade yesterday and haven't heard the dreaded "tick" with its corresponding channel switch ever since. Great work and thank you again for listening to your customers the way you do. It makes all the difference in the world, together with a killer product, of cour...

We have identified the cause of the problem, and are testing a couple of potential fixes. This is the highest-priority bug in our system right now. Fantastic news! Thanks for the update, Mike! This kind of support and interaction with the user community is what sets Roku apart from the competition....

Today I stopped by Best Buy in Fort Lauderdale and saw a bunch of "blister packaged" M1000s advertised as M500. Price was $200, including WiFi. I was really tempted to buy a couple. Just to give away, or as a backup. Reason prevailed in the end. Besides, I had just spent $300 on a Seagate external d...

Since you see it with ITunes, does Roku have a codec for that in the box or do ITunes also get streamed as PCM? I don't use iTunes, but with WMC, channels are reversed both when streaming WMA Lossless (which is converted to PCM at the server) and lossy WMA at different bit rates, which are handled ...
