Re: An open letter to Roku's CEO Anthony Wood

I'm a huge Roku fan too. I have 2 SoundBridges, a SoundBridge Radio, and 2 Roku HD TV units. It is unfortunate that they stopped making SoundBridge, and that they haven't really brought SoundBridge functionality to the TV units yet. Like you, when I wanted to connect a new set of speakers and an amp...

Change power supply to 5V 3A to fix Soundbridge M1001

I was skeptical, but before I spent money to send my SoundBridge M1001s back for $99 replacement, I decided to try a new power supply instead. I bought the Phihong PSAA15W-050-R for $12 from Cypower. It has double the power rating (3A vs 1.5A) of the Roku power supply. I plugged it in, and all of my...

I own two SoundBridge M1001's, and until recently, they both worked great. Now one of them is dead or dying... It constantly flickers between the “offâ€

Soundbridge M1001 no sound then reverts to clock display

Device comes on, connects to wifi, finds library or internet radio, indexes to song or channel, buffers and indicates that it is playing, but there is no sound; and then after a few seconds the display reverts to the time clock.

Where are they now?

Does anyone know where the engineers that made the SoundBridge great went?

I hate to say this, but under the circumstances, I'm ready to put my 3 soundbridges on eBay, and buy a couple of Squeezeboxes instead.

Bummer.

That's exactly what happened! I had assigned a static IP address to the SoundBridge for my home network. Once I reset the SoundBridge to factory default, everything worked perfectly.

Windows Vista WiFi Setup

I just purchased a Belkin G+ router for my brother in law, and I'm trying to get him hooked by setting up my SoundBridge M1001 on his system. I know the network is working because my son's new PSP is picking up an internet connection (and making Skype calls), and the Roku "sees" the networ...

Need help finding and removing M4P / DRM protected files?

I have a relatively large (6,135 songs) library on a Network Application Server (Maxtor). This serves as the music library for both iTunes on my PC, and Firefly on the server. There are a handful of DRM protected songs in the library because I made the mistake of purchasing them through iTunes befor...

Great way to enjoy Roku Soundbridge outddors: Remote Control

Here is an update on one way to set up a SoundBridge to drive an outdoor sound system: Pick up a secondhand receiver, and set it up indoors with a SoundBridge. Wire it through the exterior wall to the outdoor speakers. Control it using SoundBridge Commander on a laptop through your WiFi network. Tha...

I tried installing both versions of the program on my WIN-XP laptop from work, but when I try to run sbc.exe I get this error message: Java Virtual Machine Launcher X Could not find the main class. Program will exit. And when I double click sbs.jar, a command prompt briefly flashes, then nothing. En...

Portable Remote for Network Control

I tried the java version of SB3 last night, and was able to control the SoundBridge in my basement, feeding the speakers on my patio, from my second floor bedroom! Now I'm looking for the next level of convenience... Is there a portable device, like a Sony PSP, that can be used to run the SoundBridg...

SoundBridge Control using Laptop or BlackBerry?

I'm setting up a SoundBridge to use with my new outdoor speaker system. The speakers are outside on the patio, and the amplifier is downstairs in the basement. The speaker wires run through the wall, but controlling the music source and volume is a pain. Originally, I thought about putting a SoundBr...
