Re: Hosting for video files

I'll look into DB again. I'm curious how DropBox, as they state use AmazonS3 servers for storage, offers 250gb daily bandwidth on a paid account for $9.99/month. Only possible show stopper is: Streaming videos are cropped at five minutes. --- Amazon S3 pricing: Storage: First 1 TB / month $0.140 pe...

Re: Hosting for video files

Yeah, I deleted my post on hostgator. I talked to them and they said no way haha. I was looking into Amazon but I think we might go with a Virtual Dedicated Server via Go Daddy, 30gb of storage and up to 1,000gb of bw for under $40. Not exactly what we want to do, but we kind of have to due to the c...

Re: ECP install from channel store

Here is the code I'm attempting to use. Function BannerInstall() As String ip = "127.0.0.1" xfer = CreateObject("roURLTransfer") ECPUrl= "http://127.0.0.1:8060/launch/11?contentID=1504" xfer.SetURL(ECPUrl) result = xfer.PostFromString("") End Function On the ...

Re: Hosting for video files

Whatever you do, don't use a Dropbox FREE account to host files. They will suspend activity if you reach 10GB of bandwidth in a day (the cap for paid accounts is 250GB/day.) Maybe this is already well known, but I feel like an idiot! We were using this method for testing, then as soon as the channel ...

Hi, here is a link to an updated version of appDetailScreen.brs that should fix the Resume issue:

Download appDetailScreen.brs

Thanks, Joel! This definitely did the trick and I rolled out a package update with the fix.

Re: Resume Playback Issues

Do any of you guys have example code for the appDetailScreen.brs (that has been tested) for this whole "resume playback" thing? I removed it completely because it was showing up even if the content wasn't viewed yet. However, it would be nice to have it in there if the content was only par...

Re: XML - Categories/Levels Question

Still having problems figuring this out. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make the categories on the Channel appear from right to left instead of left to right? It automatically goes to the left-most category when loaded....what is the fix? Thanks in advance for the help! Scratch that....I fig...

Re: Roku Channel Approval

We are also eagerly awaiting notification of our channel getting approved. We noticed that it was installed on 1 account, but we have made several updates/changes since then and even updated the pkg file. We just want to make sure the most current version (and package) was reviewed. We have an ident...

Re: XML - Categories/Levels Question

So my channel has been submitted and I'm stoked with how it came out. However, when I select the Channel on the Roku it displays the icons from right to left, instead of from left to right.

I know it's a minor issue, but does anyone know how to fix it?

Re: XML - Categories/Levels Question

Forgive me, Mark. I'm on a PC using Windows and I see no lines in my code. All of the xml and brs files open in Notepad/Wordpad and I see no line numbers. Can you suggest an alternative method?

Thanks!

Re: XML - Categories/Levels Question

Ok...so I seem to be running into another syntax error issue and now the channel doesn't show when I install on the Roku Plugin Installation page. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm using SDK v29 Debug info (edit): *** ERROR compiling /pkg:/source/appMain.brs: Syntax Error. (compile error &a...

Re: Background Image

It's not possible to change the background of a roPosterScreen or a roSpringboardScreen to anything other than a solid color. This is what I'm trying to figure out. How do I change the background(s) from gray to black? I'm used to working with HTML so my eyes are trained to look for things like <ba...

Re: XML - Categories/Levels Question

Thanks JT! That hack definitely did the trick, now I can start focusing on making sure it's how I want and make the necessary tweaks. You rule man! BUT...since you say that it's a "hack", does that mean I may run into problems when I decide to submit it as a public channel? Meaning it won'...
