I understand the issue with buffers, etc. But I want this feature and I prefer Roku over slim devices or itunes. Frankly, I just want Roku to come out with a new device that works with my existing NAS and Twonky library. I've been holding off on buying a platform because the only one that really see...

Sync Across Multiple Rooms and Rokus

A feature I'm still dying to see is being able to sync rokus across multiple units - streaming and local media. I keep checking out the slim devices product, but it just doesn't appeal to me. I'd even be willing to buy all new units. I currently own 1 roku, because I can't sync multiple units, and I...

Multiplayer Sync

I would've put this in the software requests category, but I've come to realize it will require a new design to the soundbridge.

I'd love a brand new version of the soundbridge that allows sonos-like multiplayer/multiroom sync.

Thanks.

Here's a pretty good thread, its the one I was refering to in my earlier post. I think it definitively answers the question as far as I'm concerned - I don't think mixing slimdevices and roku's will ever be the way to go. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23356&highlight=sync+roku I...

I only one roku too, but if someone could figure this sync'ing issue I'd buy a couple more. I read somewhere (maybe it was at the slimdevices forum) that hte older versions of slimserver work best - somewhere around version 5?

I own one of those already (Ramsey FM25B). It works fine, but there's a slight hum and the volume isn't very loud (you have to turn the radios really loud)

Wifi Speakers

I was just wondering if anyone knew of wifi speakers or similar? I really don't need to sync roku's (which would also entail getting control from one to the others) so much as I want the same music playing throughout my house. WiFi speakers would be perfect. Anyone know of anything? Google didn't tu...

Has anyone tried this with multiple roku's? I'd run a slimserver if it'd help me sync my soundbridges... (I'd buy another soundbridge if this would help me sync them... )

I already own an FM25B which is a pretty high end fm transmitter (digital pll tuning, +1/4 mile transmitting), and even with that I wasn't completely satisfied. I was happy enough with it for years - very simple solution - just put cheap radios everywhere and tune into your station - you can even ha...

sync multiple roku radios

I know there's a problem in sync'ing multiple rokus in general - particularly when pulling media off a server. What I'm curious about is if I were to use multiple roku radios to listen to internet radio, will they be in sync automatically because they're all getting a feed from the same place? Or ar...

but we can browse server containers using the twonky server, so i think so long as upnp compatible it'll work. it's the one feature that i miss from twonky, and the reason i haven't fully abandoned twonky...

Anyway, specifically to the original question, I can't see why the configuration of (1) Twonky running on a NSLU2, (2) Soundbridge and (3) VisualMR on a PocketPC (and no other moving parts other than all of 1-3 being on the same LAN subnet) wouldn't work just fine, without a Windows PC to be seen. ...

VisualMR is pretty cool! I see it needs a PC to run as well? I have twonky running on an NSLU2, is there a way to incorporate it with that?

I'm holding out for Cidero to come through with a PPC solution...

twonkymedia

I've heard that twonkymedia is an easier way to go with the nslu2, plus they have a ton of support for other clients. I've opted to go this route as opposed to mt-daapd - mostly because I don't have the budget for a soundbridge just yet, but I wanted to be up and running and ready for it. I got an o...
