Further Update - Only R1000's seem to have problems

Dear Roku, A further update on my streaming problems. I tried as an experiment, removing the Ethernet connection from my M2000 and inserting its 802.11b WiFi card (as it is located in the same room as the access point is now). Surprise, surprise it works fine, no re-buffering on streamed WAVs from f...

Please support 802.11g Wi-Fi CF upgrade to solve rebuffering

Dear Roku, I have wasted significant time and money now trying to get a pair of Radio Roku's to play nicely in my wireless environment. Despite everything I have tried, I cannot get both R1000's to stream from a Firefly server concurrently and reliably. I am certain that this is not due to performan...

I'm also recently plagued by R1000 re-buffering problems

For many months now my single R1000 was working nicely in my wireless environment until I added a second about a month ago. Somewhat concurrently I also upgraded both of them to the most recent V3 software. Ever since introducing the second one I've had continuous re-buffering problems when streamin...

It is, but in a "backwards compatible" manner. i.e. Your brand new "n" router will support legacy "g" and "b" clients. However, operating any wireless router in a mixed client environment will negatively impact the peak performance of all clients, especially t...

I'd prefer anything over the current situation

To me a partial/fudged/hacky solution is better than nothing. If ROKU are genuinely concerned that an odd implementation of FF would confuse customers, then make its operation menu configurable with the default being disabled. Voila - no more confusion. By the way, further research indicates that Mi...

This actually sounds much harder to do than the fast-forward/rewind functionality, especially with vbr encoded material.

Here we go again

This topic has been brought up numerous times (for instance http://forums.rokulabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=7444&highlight= ) and it is clear that the feature is still strongly desired. Roku development, could you not simply use the "range" option within the http request to approximate (pre...

Ron, whilst we are on the topic of playlists and smart-playlists, a feature I'd really like to see is filtering based on folder/file created date. That way I could make a "Recently Added" playlist which selects "Created" less than "3 months ago". Any possibility?? cheer...

Really cool software - thanks a lot

Thanks Thorsten for some really cool and functional software. If you're still taking requests for features, is there any way to have the album art being read from the Attached Image tag within the files (I'm not sure how this could be done through the firefly media server, it may also require some f...

Can't specifiy iTunes only smart playlists - I also get m3u

I've noticed that the only way to get iTunes playlists to be incorporated into Firefly is to tick the "Process .m3u Files" option rather than the expected option of "Process xmlFiles" for iTunes. The problem with this, is then all existing m3u files (one for each album in my case...

Auto DHCP release and renew if network servers unreachable

My default home gateway has a bad bug, namely that although it provides a DHCP lease that is effectively forever, if it hasn't heard/seen any traffic from the Roku for a while (several hours) it times out the firewall entry and the DHCP lease. Then when I wake the Roku back up, it naturally cannot f...

So, since iTunes & iPod are now "gapless" -- so the mainstream is now aware of gapless playback... Another repeat request to get gapless playback on MP3, at least using the "de facto" LAME enc_delay and enc_padding info in MP3 files when available. 8) I'll add a +1 to this r...

I tried it and it did not solve my problem... I am at lost here :( Try power-cycling the Roku (remove power, wait 10 seconds, reconnect power) and see if that changes the problem. I have this issue if I leave the Roku in standby for greater than 24 hours, my router removes the DHCP lease informatio...

I posted something similar in another thread... It was all about the fact that if paused for long enough, we have been told that the SB disconnects from the server. When un-paused, it asks the server to start streaming again from a particular point in the track. IMHO, this feature could be used for...
