Can I Run Firefly and Vista Media Center Simultaneously

Hello All, For the past 3-4 years I've been running Firely Media Server / Bonjour install on an old Windows XP machine hanging in my basement. It serves music to my three Roku M1001's As of Christmas I purchased a Windows Vista computer with Media Center and an Xbox 360. From this new computer I am ...

There have been rare cases of spontaneous skipping with Firefly since it's birth... which seem to only happen on the M1001 and SoundBridge Radio, and not the original M1000. (At least in my testing.) I don't think this was ever fully diagnosed, since it happens very rarely. Not sure what triggers i...

Soundbridge Skipped To Next Track in the middle of song....

Hi ... I have two M1001's and my setup is Firefly on Windows XP. They were both running at the same time today and while I was listening on one it skipped in the middle of the track to the next one. I put it back to the previous track and it played normally. When I checked the log file I noticed tha...

The mac address is further down on this status page.

Found it ....

It's also listed under 'status' at the Wi-Fi assigned IP.

WPA encryption was added in 2.7, as was native decoding of Apple Lossless files. Unfortunately for some, the WPA upgrade only applies to the Soundbridge Radio and M1001, and the Pinnacle HomeMusic. Right ... I have the M1001 unit. It seems that when I set my wireless to WPA2 that the Soundbridge al...

Stupid WEP/WPA Question

Hi - I have been using my Soundbridge hardwired to my network and just this week purchased a laptop and wireless access point. To check the network I decided to connect my Soundbridge as a wireless device. Upon configuration I noticed that the 'new' WPA encryption protol is supported. This puzzles m...

I found that using an external DAC was a much bigger upgrade than using higher bitrate file formats. However, chances are that you will still be using the same CD rips in the future after you upgrade your equipment, so starting with lossless is a good investment for the future. Using an external DA...

I've had my Soundbridge for over one year and have ripped my collection of 400 CD's using EAC / LAME 3.96.1 -- preset standard. I find that the audio quality is near (if not) CD quality. I am not an audiophile however - but I do love the sound of a .wav from a CD. Recently I thought about re-ripping...

Thanks, that does help. I've wondered why there weren't more options with this thing. I thought clicking on 'web admin' had something to do with web help or the like. I feel like an idiot now!

Will start messing around....

Don't know what people are complaining about now?!? .....The only times I ever run iTunes anymore are 1) To play music from Firefly (still waitinig on a good DAAP client alternative for Windows!) and 2) To load songs on my iPod. But I don't even have Firefly trying to process my iTunes Library XML....

Re: Still adding Music?

For those of you out there that would like to still add music to your itunes library and continue to create/modify your itunes playlists. The simpler solution is to add a location to your Firefly server for the itunes.xml file. (This file is normaly in your my music\itunes directory.) Now as a note...

FireFly can read the iTunes xml file to retrieve your itunes playlists. I have not done it, but if you search the forums, I bet you can find out how. Craig Great - I just copied the .xml file into the directory that I've pointed Firefly to and the playlists are there. Guess I don't really need iTun...
