Re: Need Firefly DL

I've now been running Firefly Media Server svn-1737 (Windows) for nearly five months and it's very stable. I uploaded it to my blog last November and it's been downloaded nearly 140 times since then so obviously, people still use Firefly. For anyone who wants it, you can download it directly from he...

Re: Need Firefly DL

Unfortunately, the above download link for svn-1696 appears to be dead. I've been running svn-1586 but I've just updated my Windows version of Firefly Media Server to svn-1737. You can get it by extracting Firefly Meda Server.exe from the HP MediaSmart Server Update 2.5 Reference: http://www.home-se...

One query though:

Re: Firefly for Linux and Random Play

After looking around these forums and the Roku website, it really wasn't too obvious for me where to find the latest version of Firefly for Linux. http://nightlies.mt-daapd.org/ is the place to look. I'd recommend either 1696 or 1586 Re: the random play feature - the Shuffle button on the Soundbrid...

Agreed - I've had 1696 running smoothly on my slug for over a week now.

mas, you might want to edit the title of your post - it should read:
Use svn-1586 or svn-1696 nightlies

If you're happy with a basic DAAP player then Get It Together might suit (Thanks Ted Harper).

I also use the DAAPApplet within Firefly (although it seems it doesn't work for everyone).

Have you tried restarting your Soundbridge?

IIRC the M1001 will default to wireless unless your ethernet cable is plugged in when it boots.

I know it's probably not much help but my Soundbridge works fine on HomePlugs - I use a pair of Solwise 85Mbps plugs - one's connected to my router in the loft and the other's connected to my Soundbridge downstairs.
Music is served by Firefly (so no UPnP).

Reading the buyer's review, it looks like it is iTunes compatible - he bought the Pinnacle version first and sent it back because it wasn't.

I found that Firefly already picks up the iTunes extended tag field: ITUNESCOMPILATION (at least it does for songs I tagged using iTunes 6) As I don't use iTunes anymore I now use Mp3tag to tag up my compilations: View > Customize columns... > New and then: Name: Compilation Value: %ITUNESCOMPILATIO...
