Re: Streaming your DVD surround contents to the SoundBridge

Dang! I really thought I was good at using Google.
Yes, spdifconvert.py works great and I have edited my post above.
DDWAV is bit-identical to my previous results.
DTSWAV is not 100% identical but I assume spdifconvert.py to do a better job than VOBrator.

Streaming your DVD surround contents to the SoundBridge

...by converting AC3 [Dolby Digital] to ddwav [AC3-WAV] and DTS to dtswav [PCM DTS]. Since the neccessary tools and information how to do this are scattered all over the net I have to decided to sum this up a bit and add my own findings. Conversions 1) and 2) are 'lossless' by not degrading the loss...

Hi, are there any news or information available about displaying foreign characters ?
My Soundbridges can't show the first name of BedÃ…â„¢ich Smetana correctly.
(If you can't read it here either, have a look at wikipedia). I think I have it tagged correctly as the WinAmp file info shows up OK.

I second that. Should be easy to implement.
If I just have listened to a Beethoven playlist and now want to listen to the next one it takes quite a while to scroll all over Bach and Barmusic again (or Bruckner and Brahms from the other side, not to mention all the pop artist with 'B')

Unfortunately, I'm still stuck with Windows. (My slug does not recognize my external HD and I don't have money to replace one of them nor time for more days of research.) However, that ReplayGain stuff is not that important for me at this time. And I'm sure that there a many other things you want to...

Yes, utf-8 :D

My last feature request for the not so near future would be ReplayGain support for the FLAC decoder...(or is that out of your/Firefly's scope anyway?)

Winamp m3u8 unicode playlists

Hi Ron, since version 5.33 Winamp uses the m3u8 extension to retain unicode file info. Could you please add the option to additionally process .m3u8 when selecting to process .m3u files? One more question (maybe I'm too dumb to use the forum search correctly): Is or will there be a way to store my s...

Add me to the list...
I would appreciate those features, too.
And how about some autoplay-function after Power-on ?

Thanks for the info. So I will have to wait, too.
Unless I finally solve my NSLU2 problems.

48KHz FLAC - wrong playback rate

Hi there, here this an interesting issue: I have encoded some 48KHz WAV files to FLAC. Winamp playback is fine. (fileinfo shows 48KHz) But playing them on my Soundbridges (M1000, M1001) via Firefly runs too slow, at 44.1 KHz - as shown on my AV-Receiver when using the M1000. The total playback time ...

My first request for LAME gapless MP3 support.
I wouldn't encourage any of my colleagues to
get an M1001 unless this is fixed.
