Why I bought an Avel Linkplayer2

Well it's been about a year or so since I bought my HD-1000 - about all the use it gets nowadays is running a web-cam from the serial port - and as a room warmer in winter. It's definitely still a hobbyist tool, fine if you want to tinker with something all the time. Anyway, I purchased an Avel Link...

Important - Choppy mpeg video/audio playback?

So here I was bitching away at home as to how mediocre the beta was and whether to just junk the roku especially as video/audio was always crapping out, no matter which app I used. I had mounted my volumes via nfs and noticed that an old 50mbs HD clip I had wasn't playing back real time like it did ...

Looks interesting, but did you notice that the mpeg2 max bitrate is 15mbps? Don't you need 19 for ATSC HD and 56 for BluRay?

Roku is a privately-held digital media company located in Palo Alto , Calif. , and founded by Anthony Wood, the inventor of the digital video recorder (DVR). So Mr. Wood's invention was used for the Abekas (A60 and earlier) DVR's and in the early 80's the DVR's that used banks of Fujitsu Eagle driv...

Re: TS playback - looses audio after file switch

I'm not real sure this should have been a public beta? Loosing Networks shares, loosing Audio after file switches. I agree, I loaded it yesterday and played around a bit. The damned mpg/vob playback lost audio between each file switch (not just your experience with ts). The machine even locked up o...

I haven't tried it, but I would think that transcoding with VLC to
a single file from a playlist might be possible.

Awesome!

Received my Fusion-HDTV3-T card today (ordered from copperbox.com for $150). I don't have my Zenith antenna yet, but I plugged in an old rabbit-ear, ran iTele in scan mode and started picking up ATSC HDTV. Frickin' awesome! Thanks for all your help and pointers, I was streaming to the roku within a ...

Disapointed in HD1000.

I've had my HD1000 for a couple of weeks now and must say that I'm quite disapointed in it. Yes it does display hi-res stills nicely on an HDTV monitor, but that's about it (even then the images don't cross-fade). None of the streaming video tools are any good - audio syncing problems, no decent pla...
