it could turn out ok, but when they're struggling to match the roku 2 years ago, I have my doubts. I see them joining Buffalo Tech in the list of failed replacements before someone makes a fully capable STB that will do the various mpg4 and wmv formats in addition to mpeg2 as the hd1000 does. Strug...

Are there any plans for the MediaBox to include support for either FLAC or WAVPack? Well, there are looking to add lossless support, and they're currently looking at both FLAC and WavPack (though obviously no promises). But I don't really think its right to talk about the Mediabox here, it does hav...

Ok.. devils advocate... When you bought your PhotoBridge... what were the advertised features? While we'd like to see additional functionality, I don't remember any feature advertised by Roku that did not exist.. You got a calendar handy? http://www.rokulabs.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=10821&hig...

Soundbridge Radio

Before anyone from Roku moans, as far as I'm concerned, this is the right forum for this post. It looks nice, doesn't it? But you don't seriously expect to sell any of those things to anyone unfortunate to have bought a PhotoBridge from you? That's the problem when you burn your "bridges" with your ...

Re: Elgato

Have you tried playing the .mpg files from EyeTV recordings (inside individual recordings folders in the 'EyeTV Archive' folder) without using EyeConnect (ie as standard SMB shares)? Paul Hi Paul - Not yet. That's a good idea to narrow down what the problem might be. I'll give it a go over the w/e.

I've just got an EyeTV 410 - brilliant piece of kit. Am trying to watch recorded programmes through the PhotoBridge (using EyeConnect), but am getting severe break-up on the video. G5 iMac and PhotoBridge (Rev A) both connected directly to a DrayTek Vigor 2600 ADSL router (which I believe is 10/100)...

DVD ripping advice (Mac) for Mplay?

Now that we've got PAL up and running, I'm finally going to get round to ripping my DVD's. Naturally I want to make sure I do it in the most "sensible" way possible to avoid any future headaches. I ripped a DVD yesterday and it played back flawlessly with MPlay, but there seems to be something "miss...

but don't answer this thread even with a dukenukem we'll ship it when it's done kind of statement. We'll ship it when it's done. ;) Seriously. As a rule, we do not discuss future features, and we do not discuss timetables for shipping releases. Don't get me wrong Mike, because I'm a huge believer i...

{snip} I really do think it's a bit out of order to continue to completely ignore these simple requests for updates. Why? Roku is a lot better than most companies in even making a beta available to the entire user base. I would prefer that they work on getting it ready than spend time issuing statu...

bump - into fourth week with no response from Roku. Not even a "sorry I'm not allowed to disclose the roadmap." There is also another thread specifically asking about when we will see the next beta, V 2.0.11 Should I just give up ? As I write this 550 people have viewed this thread and more than 10...

I've got a Lacie Ethernet Disk (500gig) which I'm very happy with. Has the advantage that you can just keep on adding Firewire drives to it in order to increase the storage. The Ethernet Disk itself is available in several sizes from US$549 (160GB) up to US$1599 (1TB). Note that it's far more cost e...
