Re: JSON file length maximum

I seem to remember the following limitations for DP. 25 rows of 40 "items". Where, an "item" is not necessarily one video. It can be a series of videos. There's no limit on the physical size of the feed file. The Roku partner site details these limitations.

Re: Feed refreshes properly, but the channel crashes on start

From your description, you may be a victim of the Roku bug others have reported last week on this forum. Check the previous posts for more info.

Re: Feed Issue

Do you still need help with this?  It appears that the file you posted as a sample does not match the file at your URL.  It appears that the file at the URL is correct.

Re: Feed Issue, no videos showing up (Newbie)

Not sure that's accurate. I have an unpublished channel that I use to test my published channel and it works fine. There must be more factors involved than it being simply an unpublished channel. Maybe it has something to do with the date a channel was submitted.

Re: Feed Issue, no videos showing up (Newbie)

Have you tried the channel on another Roku device?
Have you made sure the server permissions are correct?

Re: Feed Issue, no videos showing up (Newbie)

I took a quick peek at your feed file. You've defined one category, however, your query is incorrect. The query needs to be one or more tags from your video items.

I'll take a look at your updated feed file. In the meantime, check the permissions you have set on your server. Make sure you've provided public access.

Re: Feed Issue, no videos showing up (Newbie)

I validated your feed file using my software and it does appear to be valid.  However, I did notice that you do not define any categories in the feed file.  Hopefully, you've defined then through the developer portal using the tags you specified in the feed file.  Your videos and thumbnails are both...

Re: Roku pulling all videos on the channel every 6 hours

I use Amazon S3 with CloudFront.  I took a look at your feed file.  It would appear that you are executing a php script every time someone views a video.  If that's correct, that seems pretty inefficient.  Amazon's CloudFront provides a cached object to serve your videos on a demand basis.  I don't ...

Re: Direct Publisher Automatically Generated BIF?

I'd be inclined to believe that except that I'm using Amazon S3 and the Trick Play does not display for all videos.  I don't think Amazon would take it upon themselves to generate those files for me.

Direct Publisher Automatically Generated BIF?

I've stumbled across something by accident.  In researching a problem, I found that my channel uses BIF files for some of my videos even though I have not coded them in my feed file.  Again, some of my feed files show a Trick Play image when I fast forward through the video.  Others do not.  I have ...

Re: Revert to Categories From Feed?

Go to the developers portal and remove them. Then, define them in the feed file with the appropriate tags.

I know I'm late to the party, but, this is the sort of error my software can pick up easily.

Re: Switching Channel from SDK to Direct Publisher

There's nothing in the Developer Portal that acts like the switch you're looking for.  You can replace the 'new' with the 'old', but, not the way you'd like.  It will take some logistics, but, it can be done with what I have mentioned.
