Why not a banner statement on www.radioroku.com?

Should at least acknowledge the issue so that the less techy folks who don't use forums can see that there is a server problem. Something like a "technical problems, nothing wrong with your set, our apologies" message. Imagine all the tech support calls Roku will get on Monday!

Issue resolved

Roku has kindly agreed to honor my radio's warranty, even though it is 7 months past the 1-year period. Thanks very much to Lyndon for his quick customer support efforts. This decision demonstrates a strong commitment by Roku to its customers. My apologies, if others feel that I have belabored the i...

For me it was the radio. Evidently brand new units now sold have a fix that might solve the problem. I don't know if the tube units (m1001 etc.) have the same issue. My M1001 is still working fine after about 2 years.

I tried the polite approach, to which Lyndon replied with the $199 response.

I understand fully that Roku does not have a legal requirement to fix my radio. I also understand that Roku says that they have improved currently sold radios. Those aren't the issues. My issue is that Roku knows that they sold me a defective radio and that they refuse to repair it. Yes, the warrant...

Why on earth should users send back their defective units and pay $199 to have the company rebuild/replace the unit, when the company sold goods they have admitted were shoddy? Imagine taking your car into a dealership after defectives brakes failed, and the company asking you to pay 75% of the car'...

Mine died this weekend after 1 year and 7 months. Seems that Roku's idea of rewarding loyal early-adopting customers is to ask them to pay $199 for a repair, whereas more recent customers are given replacement radios, despite the fact that it is the same design flaw that causes the issue.

As I wrote on the other posting, about Amazon, I received the explanation that I need to pay $199 for the fix from Lydon himself. He wrote me today. As far as my experience would show, the issue is not addressed and Roku has refused to repair my radio for free, despite their radio's design flaw.

It was Lyndon himself who wrote me that I had to pay $199 for the fix. He wrote me today. As far as I can tell, and as far as Lyndon's email implied, the issue is not resolved.

Thanks

Thanks, all, or the replies. It sounds as if my needs are being met by my existing set-up.

Do people with the affordable DACs recognize a significant difference using one such DAC rather than the M1001's analog out (which I presume, uses an internal DAC of similar cost/quailty)?

Digital Out converter?

I'm a quasi-audiophile with a nicer-than-average stereo system and speakers. I've ripped my classical and jazz CD collection to WMA lossless, and listen to tracks via my M1001, currently using the analog output connected to my receiver via the "Tape 1" inputs. I'm currently I've read on th...

Odd WMA Lossless behavior -- differs on SB Radio and M1001

I've just finished ripping about 100 classical CDs to WMA Lossless format. I use WMP 11 to stream them to my Roku Radio and M1001 devices. All tracks that I've listened to so far play beautifully on both devices, except about 12 tracks (out of 24) from one album, Mendelssohn's Songs without Words. W...
