Re: HTML or WebView in RokuTV

You're in the wrong sub-forum of this board. This is the 'Direct Publisher' channel builder section, which is more along the lines of a Wordpress style template builder. Try posting in the other section. My 'guess' based on my attempts of using the SDK builder and limited programming knowledge, woul...

Re: NetFlix + ROKU

Scottypie is right. It seems the Express+ is the only model with the old red, yellow, white cabling outputs. And yes you pay the "Netflix streaming fee", which would increase over the DVD standalone fee, but Roku itself does not charge any fees on top of it. It's worth doing tho, as The Ro...

Re: A VAST TAG (aka Ad Server Tag) for monetization Testing

Interested, just wanna hear a little more. Is this like a startup ad agency or something, with the intention of selling ads in the near future?  What ads currently play, like real clients ads or a generic dummy/test ad. And, for this beta test period, how long are you looking for us to keep it in. J...

Re: monthly payment from Roku decreases from the previous month with rising Cumulative Installs

Yes, there's a possibility there were a few more cancellations for this recent pay period, and also possible momentum on new installs slowed down, but since my overall installs grew, I thought my monthly revenue would continue to grow in a positive direction.    I mean, again, it's 'entirely' possi...

Re: monthly payment from Roku decreases from the previous month with rising Cumulative Installs

Are you referring to PPV or charges to install the channel? ($1.99 etc), or are you referring to ad revenue. Obviously ad revenue is not based on installs. I didnt think Direct Publisher had PPV but if so, not sure. Could it be a monthly subscription and cancellations increased too. Really need more...

Re: Optional property language is missing

Language is required I believe but all you need to enter is essentially the following on one of the first few lines of your feed. "language": "en-US", Alot of required fields & schema can be viewed here: https://developer.roku.com/docs/specs/direct-publisher-feed-specs/json-d...

Re: Changing Channel from FREE to PAID

Did you build it using Direct Publisher?  I'm not sure DP channels can be subscription/paid?   Unless I'm mistaken you'll need to have your channel coded for that using the SDK.

Re: Roku remote

Could anything be obstructing the view or trajectory of the remotes signal?  Or, could the Roku unit be tucked away or tilted off to an angle? The Roku remotes seem fairly unidirectional, meaning the remote tends to need to be pointed directly at the Roku with the Roku facing back directly at the re...

Re: HLS Stream Help

Wouldnt you do the recording local? How are you streaming your video, are you using OBS or Wirecast or something. Otherwise if your streaming to a video streaming site like Dacast you could record thru them, but id doubt you would due to streaming fees and 24/7 bandwidth.

Did you manually add the "tags" into each category in the Roku Dashboard?

For instance: Category "Health"  Tags: "Sleep Apnea" "Whitening" "Invisible Braces"

Re: Feed Issue, no videos showing up (Newbie)

My guess is Youtube doesn't work for the images. Reason being it also doesn't work for video hosting, due to a URL shortening format. I read that the videos URL (example: http://www.youtube.com/video/1b4hts879x024 is generally a shortened or redirect to the true URL path, which is more along the lin...

Re: Streaming Channel Search Results

Typically fairly quick. 2-3 days I think. It likely appears in the New & Notable section for something like 30 or 60 days and may get fairly decent install rates when there.
