It'll never happen. Get another device if it's a show stopper.

I've had the Sono 3 months now and love it. Spouse, guests, kids pick it up and know how to use it. No squinting at a small display, high ease of use. I run a D-link DIR655 "n" network, HP c7280 wireless printer, 2 wired and 3 wireless clients all no problem. All my music is stored on a NA...

I've heard good things about Slimserver, and softsqueeze really is a work around. All I was suggesting was if you want synch, Sonos are brilliant but pricey and that SLim could do the job at cheaper price. And yes, Synch is brilliant.

Slimserver / Squeezebox does this also, out of box. I'm unsure if Softsqueeze would allow this using your existing roku units.

It's horses for courses eh? My C$.02. When we had the roku set up, spousal / guest usage was zero. With the Sonos controller and I presume this would be the same for the SLim controller, the usability is wonderful ie. sit on the couch, kitchen, where ever a substantial distance from the equipment, a...

GD - my dlink DNS323 nas has mtdaap on it but I could never be bothered installed a later version to deal with playlists properly as like you I am tech support so I used itunes on a PC. I still love my Roku but it's hard to go back! Burkhardi - someone wrote a perl-based Sonos web controller which a...

I don't think this is a trivial piece of work for Roku as they are dependent on a music server. One of the reasons Sonos is pricey is each of the zones can act as a server, no PC needed, and in my case, speak directly to the FS on a NAS. Which server would Roku enable remote control from, and how? I...

Actually from a usability perspective purty screens and WIFI are everything in a whole house set up when your components are hidden away or in another room. It's where the market is heading even at thebudget end. Check out the squeeze / jive stuff which is more of a comprable to m1001 as your price ...

I'm in violent agreement with you. Slim is starting down this path with Jive, Sonos has had it for a while. I've relegated my M1001 to the basement for this reason. Yes, having a PDA or a similar spezialized remote with a display that shows much more information including coverart and makes browsing...

Of course you're completely right! It's akin to "100% of complaints in the complaint box are complaints" My recently renewed frustration is I've gotten used to FF/RW for podcasts and had just set the redundant m1001 up in the basement. That may be because those of us who have no use...

This really should be a PHPBB poll. By my rough count most posters here want it vs one.

Still no progress on this basic feature?

Sounds like every other major streamer provides this. Not good differentiation: "let's not provide it as it might annoy of x% our customers that wouldn't get it".

Oh and my new toy (as yet yesterday) has it
