Re: Playing 24 bit/96 or 88 khz files....

No, not with the SoundBridge - you're limited to 44.1 and 48k and 16 bits. You either need to re-encode your library (with a tool such as dBpoweramp) or use a server application that will transcode on the fly (AssetUPnP can do this I believe, but may require some tweaks in the setup).

Hi Matt,

The Season's Greetings to you and your family as well.

Still using the SoundBridge for audio in this household too!

Re: An open letter to Roku's CEO Anthony Wood

Might it be possible to opensource the soundbridge project and technology? It really is a cool tool! This has already been asked and answered many times. Much of the software in the SoundBridge product was licensed from various third party developers (codecs, the UPnP stack, etc), so even if Roku w...

You're welcome. I still lurk around here occasionally, but too there's much else going on to spend as much time here as I used to.

Cheers,

Les.

Re: Soundbridge M500/M1000/M1001/M2000 power issues

Does anyone know where I can find a new power supply for the M2000 in the US? Either of these should work... (but I am sure there are many others) http://search.digikey.com/us/en/products/PSAA20R-240/993-1044-ND/2384486 http://search.digikey.com/us/en/products/PSAA30R-240/993-1120-ND/2635782 The ma...

Re: m1001 dead :( any advice?

If you are really sure that the power supply was under load, then I would look on eBay for a second-hand M1001. They can be repaired, but with prices having fallen over the past year or so it might not be worthwhile. You could ask here if anyone has one for sale, remembering to say where in the worl...

Re: Soundbridge M500/M1000/M1001/M2000 power issues

No, it's definitely an M1000. I need a 9.2V power supply... Not sure where the .2 comes from. The M1000 supply is 9 volts, but the internal design is happy with more than that, so 9 or 12 volts at 1.5 amps would be safe. The unit has its own internal regulation for all of the electronics. You can u...

Re: An open letter to Roku's CEO Anthony Wood

The market's evolved quite a lot since Roku stopped selling the SoundBridge with stabilisation of some standards (UPnP improving with DLNA, but not "there" yet"), and with consolidation of radio station portal/database providers (vTuner and RadioTime being the major players today). In...

Re: An open letter to Roku's CEO Anthony Wood

So, while I still thoroughly enjoy my M1001, if a lightning strike took away that artful piece of internet tech that resides next to my cheap Sherwood receiver tomorrow, I would simply toss my M1001, box up my Sherwood receiver, sell it a garage sale and buy a new receiver that can do just what my ...

Re: Soundbridge 3.0.52 Public Beta - Itunes 7.7

My problem is my Roku has trouble connecting to Itunes 8 (which I hate). So don't use iTunes. If you have a Mac, you can use EyeConnect to share files via UPnP to the SoundBridge - it's free for use with audio files. On a Windows PC there are many UPnP server applications. Windows Media Player 11 o...

Re: Soundbridge M500/M1000/M1001/M2000 power issues

I would not recommend any supply costing so little at retail. As Dupondt so kindly puts it, they are most likely crap. Nothing to do with where they are made - some excellent stuff comes out of China if you are prepared to pay for it. People have the impression that China is a cheap place to have th...

Sorry for the tardy reply. No worries. But 361 days is quite a delayed response... Sorry for the tardy reply. Again. What should I do when I lose the wifi connection? I can 'quickly' regain it by pulling the plug and putting it back in. My question was, is there an EASIER way? I don't know w...

Depends on the language. ICRT has a quite lot of English programming - see http://www.icrt.com.tw/. For Taiwanese (Mandarin and Hokkien) music I like Nostalga Taiwan - http://www.nostalgia.tw/

Re: PSU Dissected for Repair

The audio amp/display, however, will be under-powered. Hi Ted, Display will be fine - it is fed from a regulated 5 volt rail and this is fixed by another regulator circuit in the radio. You are right that the amplifier will have reduced maximum power due to the lower voltage, but for many users the...
