Sure... I will put the entire development tree up for download and send an announcement (probably this coming weekend). As for the DSM-520... it worked like a charm. I had it up and running in 3 minutes, plus another 20 minutes because the MythTV UPnP server (in the 2.0 version at least) doesn't see...

SDesk End Of Life...

I am sorry to announce that I won't be able to maintain SDesk anymore. My Roku died last weekend, and instead of spending th emoney to try and get it fixed, I decided to move to a different platform (DLink-DSM 520). Not as open as the Roku, but with TwonkyVision, it does everything I need rather nic...

You may want to check what the actual setting in the .mplay file should be. I was unable to find any documentation on the format/content of that file, so I was just guessing as to what to put into the .mplay file. The basic mechanism to generate a .mplay file should work though... If you have a dedi...

SDesk is just calling out to a script to play the video (apps/playmovie for single playing and apps/playvideoqueue). That script will call mplay. I briefly looked at the new DefaultZoom option, and as far as I can tell, that is only used as a default value when browsing via the mplay interface. I di...

With regards to the aspect ratio... SDesk os just using mplay to queu up the movies, so this would probably be an mplay limitation. I would check with them, to see what might cause this... I suspect that they compute/reset thje aspect ration between movies...

As for slideshows... I believe there should be "Slideshows" menu item in the toplevel menu (or under the Pictures menu item). - If you go to a picture or music file, and press the right arrow, you get into the submenu for that item. - In there you should see a menu entry called "Add t...

That is very strange... can you add the option %debug to the SDeskScan.cfg file (or create such a file with that content). When you rescan, you will see log output written to the sdeskscanlog file in the SDesk directory. CHeck to see whether that makes any progress, and also what is the last command...

Sorry for not responding earlier... I was busy with other stuff... I will respond in detail tonight. As for slideshows, these are actually virtual folders (.mnu files). The standard installation should have one example slideshow folder. By adding music and pictures to that, you can build the slidesh...

Great, thanks for all the testing and suggesting. I agree... the app feels a lot more complete now. As for new features.. at this point I don't have anything that comes to mind. With respect to your photo related suggestions: - The photo virtualization based upon date would certainly be possible. - ...

Cool... glad to hear that things are working well... I will publish a new version with the mplay change tomorrow. In the meantime you can change the invocation of mplay in the apps/playmovie and apps/playvideoqueue scripts. Just remove the -noresume (I believe that was the name) option. Thanks, Sven

I was actually playing around with the mplay setup. I believe the version that is currently on the web server has -noresume specified. I will put a new version up that has that enabled (my kids are also complaining about this ;-).

Thanks,
Sven
