Re: M1001 Displays 2 lines. I want one......

HA! SOLVED!! With the aid of my 10X eyepiece, I counted the number of vertical pixel elements; there ARE 32. So this is one of the HR models. Knowing this, I'll forego the streaming single line quest and use it as is. While at it, I counted the pixel elements of one of the other two SB's here in OR;...

Re: M1001 Displays 2 lines. I want one......

And HI to you, Dupondt - it's been awhile! There's something else screwy about this M1001: In the course of diddling with it, I've done a "factory reset" at least a couple of times; yet I just realized that all of the preset stations that came with its memory are still there. Shouldn't the...

Re: M1001 Displays 2 lines. I want one......

I don't think so - the unit in question has "Roku" on the front and end caps and "M1001" on the sticker on the back. Its IP address is 192.168.1.107 in Wifi and 192.168.1.109 with Wired. My browser is Firefox / Macbook Pro. Gotta go to town now; back in 4 hours.

Re: M1001 Displays 2 lines. I want one......

Well, ethernet connection didn't help. I've tried many variants and here's what it seems to be: All fonts available to this SB are about 1/2 size normal, compared to the other two SB's here. There seem to be as many (5?) available, but the smallest is totally useless in a SB, and the largest (except...

Re: M1001 Displays 2 lines. I want one......

It STILL displays wrong (Dern!) What  seems to be happening is that line 2 always starts first, followed by lone 1 at full brightness. I've gotta go into town soon so can't deal with this right now, but will later today. Am going to try set-up using Ethernet and see if that straightens things out. W...

Re: M1001 Displays 2 lines. I want one......

I tried that - still have two lines. There may be some other keystrokes I have to employ before getting there.

M1001 Displays 2 lines. I want one......

Picked up a M1001 on ebay - no stand, but a 1.5A wallwart; it seems to be ok. BUT, the display is two lines! My others all stream one line. I know there is a way to change this, but I'm 87+ and wits are fading......... (remorse). BTW, the SB is running 3.0.44 software; I understand that 3.0.52 is no...

Re: M1001 flashes on and off

Did you check the "192.168.1._ _ _" page (the page has a name but I've forgotten what it is...)? There might be a clue there. For instance: If you can bring up the page, I'd guess the problem lies with the power brick. Mine are at least 1.5A or better.

I'm Looking For A M1000 Wi-Fi Card

Picked up a non-operating M1000 - It came complete except for no 9V P.S., which I could supply. And it seems to work fine with ethernet, but not with wi-fi. Examination of the wi-fi card that came with it showed a sharp-ish dent in the back of the card. I replaced this card with another yanked from ...

Re: In need of SoundBridge Base/Stand

i too am looking for a new rubber stand or some suggestions as to a substitute. anyone have any ideas? thanks What you need is a cradle, if I remember correctly, 1-3/8" in diameter (or whatever the SB is.) I found a wooden tray at a thrift store with the exact size that would fit a SB. I sawed...

Re: Soundbridge M500/M1000/M1001/M2000 power issues

First, I'm in the US. I have 7 Soundbridges: 5 here in the Phoenix area (3 in service, 2 spares), and 2 at our "heat getaway" in Oregon. Second, I have some electronic experience, so what I mention here is for those with similar backgrounds. I blush to say that, when needed, I buy my Sound...

NPR Hourly News URL

I've seen others looking for a URL that connects to the popular 4.5 minute NPR Hourly News. This URL works for both my M1000 and M1001 SoundBridges:

Re: 2 of my Soundbridge presets stopped working

I'll bet that the stations have changed their URLs; perhaps going to a "player" type. Try going to the PBS.org site (I think Sunday Baroque is a PBS program) and see if that isn't so. KMUN, up here on the northern Oregon coast, did that and now I can't connect to it either. NPR Hourly News...

M1001 - Somewhat minor problem

For some reason, one of my M1001's (I have three in service here) loses the correct time. That's all - everything else is functioning normally. And it's the unit closest to, and with fewest walls between, the WRT54GS router. The two others, an M1000 and an M1001 in different rooms, function normally...

I Did A Dumb Thing

Here's the subject set-up: iMac G3, OS 10.4.11, plenty of HD space. It was running iTunes 7.xxx, and I wanted to upgrade to a later version. I carelessly loaded iTunes 9.xxx into the iMac, and was tartly notified by a screen message that this version of iTunes only runs on G4 and G5 machines. I tras...
