Bonjour uses broadcasts, so you have two options 1) Use a VPN Network. If you have problems with establishing such an network between XP and Vista then use an external VPN application that works on both OS? 2) You can use something like RendevousProxy to have the Bonjour broadcast packets send out o...

I guess I appointed myself KNOWING that there would not be any response or complaint from anyone from Roku, as they don't bother to read this feature request forum. Feel free to appoint yourself as well. 8-) Does that not tell you all? Anyway, my intention is just to safe people from wasting their t...

The status of all the soundbridges is EndOfLifetime reached. Don't expect any updates or support any more. There won't be any response by officials as well here in the forum. This wasn't really formally announced but there is one post from their CEO basically saying that there priorities are elsewhe...

Well that question was a rhetoric one. 8-) The plain fact that we can post almost anything here without it even beeing noticed sais it all already. Let's try: The Roku guys are ugly green slimy snails! The Roku guys are ugly green slimy snails! The Roku guys are ugly green slimy snails! The Roku guy...

This forum officially closed now!

Before you post here and invest some time, read this official statement: http://forums.rokulabs.com/viewtopic.php?p=121882&highlight=#121882 You will then realize it makes no sense to post a feature request any more. At least not until the source code is opened, which I don't see hap...

Hah! So about - whats it - 1.5 years after it became *obvious* for anyone with open eyes on this forum that the Soundbridge line was beeing phased out and discontinued, there is finally a statement admitting that. LOL To make it clear, I am not disappointed about the product line beeing disc...

Yes, would be honest.

But unfortunately it seems to be company policy not to officially admit that this product ha sreached it's end of liftime and support phase.

And closing this forum would be an admission. But well, anyone with eyes sees it anyway nowadays. It is just too obvious.

The Roku Soundbridge products have reached the end of the lifetime cycle. There is no further development and also no further bugfixing done. I do not expect to see any new firmware version. Oh, the above info is not official of course, but you can judge from the lack of an official response to this...

Wouldn't

devnull@linux.org

be as efficient? I mean seeing that the Rokus are end of lifetime and the company couldn't care less?

Just to be fair, not that he invests some time or hope into it...

Is there a chance that we will get a linux version at some point?

Because many users of the Soundbridge use a linux server as media server, so it would be logical to also use this for such an application.

And neither would I expect a new firmware to come. The Soundbridges are an end-of-lifetime product, even if that isn't stated clearly for the usually marketing crap reasons.

Security problem with svn-1696

Please beware of the following security problem with svn-1696 and possibly also all other versions. I found this breach by chance when I was trying to give a DAAP-protocal streaming link to a friend and discovered, that the user password was NOT neccessary to access the file, despite the fact that I...

That would be a great development and I am sure there would be people gladly picking it up and improving the firmware. We'd see a rush in activity for sure.

But the articles sadly sound as if this concerns only the Netflix player and possibly also not the full firmware...

I also have a M1001 and it's sad to hear that that good device died Sad But as I know inside this device is linux so i think that Roku should publish source code, if they don't want devlop it anymore. Of coure without propety stuff like iTunes. When we will have some base then we can start to devel...
