Just happened third time for me...

I won a R1000 in the Turkey Shoot contest 2005. I received the radio in June 2006 (!) and it lasted four months before it went dead. It took me a month to get a warranty replacement from Roku and that one lasted six months before it died. Next warranty replacement died yesterday after seven months o...

Both time and date is inaccurate when this happens

I have five different SBs (3xM1000 (original) and 2xR1000) and I have seen this on some occations (maybe ten times) during the last few years. As I have my M1000s set up to show time and date, I have also noticed that the date is way off (e.g. half a year) when this happens. A reboot seems to "...

Are you listening ROKU??!?!?

Just face it.

Nobody from Roku is listening anymore since RokuMike left the company.

It was fun while it lasted, and it has sometimes been the best customer experience I have ever had. I guess that the good times are over now.

Re: SB not buffering radio webcast properly?

During the listening once in a while the streaming drops out and one would thought the SB should start buffering. But the sound is rather "scratchy" (e.g. sound streaming for half a second, silent for another half of a second, back to sound for a second and so on). I had the same issues y...

Faulty power supply

DJans,

I had a rebooting issue with my first M1000 and it turned out to be a power supply failure.

Latest firmware?

Are you running the latest firmware on the M2000? As it is a discontinued model it may be running a really old version that does not even check if upgrades are available.

thx@tomas: i didnt do r.t.f.m. Neither did I... yes the hardware is allways there. for decoding of rds too i think. every bit of sound has to go through the a/d converter and the processor. so the retrieving of the rds data is only software work. but it may be hard to implement and: h...

FM

- RDS I guess this would require updated hardware to be possible, but you never know - maybe the hardware is there already :) - FM Stations on Preset Buttons This is already possible. Just tune in to an FM station and press the "select" (<checkmark>) button on the remote. Scroll down to a...

Works fine...

Just tried the program and it works fine. Thanks for making and sharing it. I don't have much time for the moment to play around with the SB interfaces, but is it possible to share FM radio presets using RCP? Here is an example of what is received from an FM preset: GetPresetInfo: preset: B1 GetPres...

It now uses RCP (Roku Control Protocol) for communication with your SoundBridges Great. I will try this out when I get the time for it now when it is implemented in this way. As I am using a Swedish localization I did not even bother to try the "web based" version as I figured it would no...

DSP

I looked at the DSP data sheet (ADSP-BF531/532) Good info. As I have not taken my SBs apart I didn't know exactly which Blackfin DSP that was used so my research stranded there. RokuGreg: I understand that You (Roku) have the best knowledge of the design and that You may know limitations that we do...

The AD1980 is actually AC '97 2.3 compatible so there must be an even newer specification as the AC '97 spec you found is revision 2.2.

Yes, here is version 2.3 of the AC '97 spec.

Re: AC'97

Bingo!!! :D The 48 kHz sync. does not limit the user to 48 kHz output operation. See section 4.2.1 (on page 27) of this AC '97 specification document . I've just become even more convinced than I was before that Roku can do away with this ridiculous upsampling nonsense! Now we're talking! Good work...

AC'97

Ok.

The AD1980 chip gets the serial data from an AC-link. An AC-link is a fixed rate 48kHz PCM stream. This means that the DSP has to upsample to 48kHz to feed the AD1980 chip. I guess this is the reason that everything is upsampled to 48kHz...
