Ah ok, I see. You certainly have to do a bit of reading alright before you can integrate it, but its definitely not as difficult as some (though yes, it is more difficult than others). However, this wouldn't be the case for Roku, they can just look at my source code (for the PhotoBridge) and use sec...

My problem is back where the picture freezes every ten minutes. I ran the script that soiaf wrote, but it didn't help. I tried running it with and without a reboot. Sorry to hear your problems back. I suppose the good aspect of the script not making any difference is that would indicate that the pr...

Hopefully it should work fine for you. If you have problems editing the file (vi is not for everyone) let me know and I'll see if I can put together a script to do the modification. As a followup to this idea, if you use UPnP occasionally, you could still make this change to the inittab file, and th...

Re: Possible to hide a Upnp Share?

I would also like PB not to show any UPNP servers (and I don't want/need it to access them). Just in the interests of making this more "family friendly"... :) If you're not interested in UPnP at all on the PhotoBridge then the easiest thing to do would be to disable the program that handl...

Re: mounting Ximeta ndas How to

Is NDAS the same as NetDisk? If so, then a quick search gives the following links http://forums.rokulabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=1344 which has the following information XIMETA NetDisk Driver Now you can mount your XIMETA NetDisks. In this beta release there is no GUI for doing this, you must telnet int...

Also thanks for the script. I'm a little shy about trying it now that I'm up and running, but I'll definitly save it for later. Great news that you're back up and running! I wouldn't bother trying to use the script now that you're going again - its really only for use if you have a problem (rather ...

I've put together a script to make it easier to disable the SMB rescanning. http://members.upc.ie/p.mc.quillan/smbrescan.zip Simply unzip the file somewhere where you can see the files from the PhotoBridge desktop e.g. a network share or a compact flash card. Then click the file named disableSMBscan...

2.0.36 did modify the way SMB works slightly - unfortunately though I couldn't say that it would necessarily help you (it might/it mightn't).
I do think it would be worth trying to remove this auto rescan script, it can always be replaced if it doesn't fix your problem.

It might be an issue relating to the PhotoBridge rescanning for SMB shares. It runs a script every ten minutes called smbremount (which rescans/remounts shares). Don't know if this is defnitely your problem, but if your network is a bit unpredictable, then this may be a good candidate (as it corresp...

There was a iTunes player a couple of years ago, but I don't think it works with the later PhotoBridge firmwares. http://forums.rokulabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=1917 But there are two excellent music applications for the PhotoBridge, Sonica http://www.bobsplace.com/sonica/ and SlimRoku http://www.perman...

Success! FLAC files play perfectly. Good news! :) 1) The "Install" icon removed itself by renaming to ".backup", but the "ReplayGain" icons did not. I manually added ".backup" to them to make them disappear -- is this appropriate? Thats fine. You don't need t...

Yes, as long as the Roku can see the folder where the codec file is stored, it can playback the files. So storing on the same share as Sonica itself should work fine. When you unzip, you'll see an icon for installing, just click on it, wait a few seconds and it should be it. Depending on the access ...
